5 documents you must take from your employer before leaving.
Don't go without taking or requesting for these documents.
These are important documents that you will need in your new job or in the future.
1. COC - Certificate of Insurance Continuity
This document is from your insurance provider, but the process to get it can be initiated by your employer.
In some cases, you can directly get from your insurance app by yourself.
Without this, you might face issues in getting a new insurance from the new company.
If you are joining a new company, you will need insurance coverage too. This document shows that your coverage has not stopped and clearly outlines your coverage period, claims and policy type.
It allows the new insurer to waive waiting periods and pre existing medical conditions.
2. Final settlement statement
This document shows your final dues and clearly states the amount and breakdown.
It is the written proof that your unused leave, gratuity and last salary has been paid.
Once you get it and confirm, then you can sign and keep a copy.

3. Experience certificates
This is a letter that states your actual job title and employment start dates.
It is important because it serves as proof and backs your CV.
Sometimes, the job stated on your visa is not the actual job you do.
Therefore, an experience certificate will help you in your job search within and outside the country.
It is free and you have the right to request for it.
4. Visa cancelation
This is the official document that shows your visa has been canceled.
Without this confirmation, the new company cannot proceed with your new visa application.
It is also important because your grace period begins from your cancelation date. Therefore, you have to know the cancelation date so as to plan accordingly.
You are still under that company sponsorship until the visa is canceled.
Some companies delay and people end up missing new opportunities.
5. Final payslip and salary transfer letter.
These are important documents to help your smooth transition.
They might not be necessary, but you might need them. Some companies even ask for your payslips before they can make an offer.
