Shoulder pain is not always just a shoulder problem.
Of course, the shoulder itself needs to be assessed. The joint, the muscles, the tendons, and how they work together all matter.
But that’s only part of the picture.
The shoulder is closely connected to the neck, upper back, rib cage, shoulder blade, and even the way you move and train.
That’s why a proper assessment is so important.
When someone comes to me with shoulder pain, I don’t just look at where it hurts. I look at how the entire system is functioning to identify all the factors that may be contributing to the problem.
Pain is often the symptom.
The goal is to understand why it’s happening in the first place.
If shoulder pain is affecting your training, sleep, or daily activities, it may be time to get it properly assessed.
