Don’t get me wrong. I have huge respect for our of veterinarians In Dubai but with every consult, I do not expect them to recommend natural modalities that they are not 100% trained in .. 🙌and that is the responsible thing to do!!
Veterinary school has a specific curriculum. They can’t possibly learn everything.
But I also don’t agree with the opposite extreme … small businesses in Dubai promoting “natural” products like enzymes with 101 fillers or omega-3’s with 101 oils etc.. and these business recommend “natural” simply because they sell them, without actually being clinically trained in what they’re recommending.
That’s where I can’t get on board.
Ultimately, it comes down to initiative. Your initiative!!
If you want to explore something outside conventional veterinary medicine, take the initiative to actually learn about it.
And when I say learn, I don’t mean asking ChatGPT , (god please NO ) ❌❌❌ for a five-minute summary and suddenly calling yourself an expert. 😂
I mean proper education. Training. or working with a qualified professional in the veterinary science, space
Educate yourself and understand the risks, contraindications, interactions and evidence.
Your vet doesn’t need to know everything.
You don’t need to know everything.
But if you’re going to make decisions about your dog’s health, take responsibility for learning.
Because being informed is a partnership not blind trust in either side.
And I’m not walking around vet clinics in Dubai expecting vets to recommend natural modalities, I walk in knowing I will get conventional advice and I prepared myself so well # that I am able to bring in natural care and have meaningful conversations when it comes to pet care.
Learning never stops and when it comes to our dogs , for me at least it’s just second nature ..I need to dig deep.. I need to know more and I’ll never settle for just conventional care.
