6 AM yoga in New York… on the 100th floor. 🧘♀️🌆
This morning started very early and very high 😅 I went to a yoga class at Edge, the incredible observation deck at 30 Hudson Yards in Manhattan. Edge is located on the 100th floor, more than 1,100 feet (about 335 meters) above the city, and it’s famous for its outdoor sky deck with glass walls and a glass floor.
The original plan was yoga outside, literally above New York. And yes… that was exactly what I was excited about. 😻
But New York weather had other plans for us. Because of the conditions, the organizers moved the class indoors. Obviously, nobody can control the weather, and I completely understand the decision.
But since we were already inside… I was at least hoping for a really good, strong yoga practice.
Well… unfortunately, that didn’t happen either. 😂
Maybe my expectations were too high. Maybe after so many years of teaching yoga, it’s difficult for me not to look at a class with a trainer’s eye. But I won’t pretend: the practice itself didn’t really impress me, and my expectations were definitely not met.
Still, as an experience, I’m happy I did it. I’ve been to Edge before, but starting the morning at 6 AM, 100 floors above Manhattan, is definitely something different.
And honestly, it’s hard to stay disappointed for long when you look around and remember:
You’re in New York.
You’re above Manhattan.
It’s 6 AM.
And the whole city is waking up below you. 🗽✨
So… not the yoga experience I imagined, but still a pretty amazing way to start a New York morning. 🤍
