It all Comes from your Mind

It’s not your life that’s unfulfilling.
It’s not the world’s problems that upset you.
It’s not other people who make you feel inadequate -
it all comes from your mind.

Your restless mind makes your life seem stressful.
The discord inside you makes the world seem chaotic.
Your ego’s harsh judgements make you hate yourself.

And so changing your life won’t bring you fulfilment.
Solving the world’s problems won’t bring you peace.
Impressing other people won’t bring you self-respect.

You can only change your mind.

Soothe your inner restlessness
slow down your chattering thoughts
soften your self-boundaries
until your mind is full of space.

And soon you’ll feel a rich, healing energy
flowing from a deeper part of you,
making you feel alert and alive.

You'll sense the core of your being, calm and strong,

radiating ease and acceptance
from a place beyond the mind.

And once you've attuned to your essence,
your life may change, or remain the same.
You may bring healing to the world
or let the world heal itself -
whichever way you're guided
by the wisdom of the soul.
