One of the best parts of being an accreditation assessor is the opportunity to see firsthand the incredible work happening across health services throughout Australia.
I have the privilege of meeting with frontline staff, executives, clients, patients and board members, observing practice, reviewing documentation and examining how each service delivers safe, high-quality care within their unique model and service delivery.
Accreditation is about examining systems and processes, understanding how organisations embed safety, quality, continuous improvement and person-centred care in everyday practice.
From small clinic services and community organisations, rural and remote to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services, mental health services, acute care and large tertiary organisations no two services are the same, yet all are focussed on caring for their clients and their community.
Thereβs something special about seeing the passion behind healthcare in communities right across our beautiful country.
