Hi Cosmic Friends!

There is a beautiful New Moon in Capricorn happening in the early hours of tomorrow morning (Australian time). Please see my New Moon report below - and make sure you follow the link at the end of the report to find your individual Sun Sign SunScopes.

Love and Light, Cosmic Carol

The New Moon is always a time of inward turning, and in Capricorn this invitation is especially strong. This is not the moment for decisive action or visible momentum, but a period of deep reflection. What unfolds now is quietly shaping the huge changes of the next five months, laying foundations that will ultimately elevate our effectiveness, accountability, and sense of authority in the world.

The Sun in Capricorn seeks ambition and accomplishment. It values reputation, responsibility, loyalty, and the steady pursuit of long-term goals. It is industrious and resourceful, driven by a desire to build something that lasts and to be at the top of its field. The Moon in Capricorn tells a more private story. Emotionally, this is a lunar placement that seeks solitude and containment. Feelings can become serious or subdued, and there can be a tendency to compensate for vulnerability or feeling underappreciated by doubling down on responsibility, duty, and self-control, sometimes at the expense of emotional growth or self-nourishment.

At a deeper, esoteric level, Capricorn represents a crisis of initiation. Sustained efforts are reaching completion, and with that completion comes the pain of death and rebirth. Throughout this initiation process, there is a strong desire for liberation and self-mastery, paired with a growing awareness of how we are perceived and where our true authority lies.

During this phase, Mercury, planet of communication, logic, and connections, is not operating freely. It is under the beams of the Sun, slowing as it prepares for its retrograde cycle, and pressured by Mars. This can manifest as difficulty communicating clearly, missing nuances or fine details, or feeling mentally stuck on particular points. Illogical thinking or impatience may creep in. This is not the time for rushed decisions, especially regarding finances, contracts, or career matters. Read communications carefully. Revisit details. Proceed with caution. What seems obvious may not yet be complete.

The Mercury Sun conjunction is also profoundly alchemical. As Mercury moves under the beams of the Sun, our thoughts and words enter a phase of dissolution and renewal. Old narratives and familiar stories we tell ourselves are being burned away to redefine our truth. Clarity may be temporarily elusive as ideas bubble beneath the surface of our conscious awareness. Messages come to us in our dreams and intuitively, so take time to slow down and listen carefully. What eventually emerges will resonate as more honest, and more deeply aligned with our life purpose.

Adding to this atmosphere, many planets are gathered... (continue reading here) https://www.cosmiccarol.com.au/post/new-moon-in-capricorn

03/01/2026

The Full Moon on Saturday 3rd January 2026 is powerful in its own sign of Cancer, emphasising emotional wellbeing, what nourishes us, and where we seek safety, belonging, and comfort. Family themes are heightened, whether that means our genetic family, spiritual family, community, or the environments we return to in times of need. Home, real estate, financial security, investments, memories, and connections to the past are all active. So too are sensitivities around mothering, being mothered, emotional ties, and feelings that have been stored rather than expressed.

The Sun, Venus and Mars together in Capricorn generate a strong drive to excel. There’s a desire to be at the top of our game creatively or professionally, to invest in what has lasting value, and to take our ambitions seriously. The combination of Sun, Venus and Mars heightens attraction, sensuality, social visibility, and creative potency. Passion runs high, sometimes beautifully and sometimes messily, bringing excitement, lust, hedonism, exaggeration, and the occasional lack of tact or sudden emotional outbursts. There’s a sense that what we want, we really want, and will do anything to achieve.

With the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars all out of bounds, the usual rules don’t apply. Many people are less inclined to comply or maintain appearances for the sake of harmony. Thoughts, words, desires, and actions may come out sideways or confrontationally. When emotional needs aren’t being met or acknowledged, passive-aggressive behaviour can also surface as a signal that something deeper requires nourishment.

Tied into the lunation is the North Node in Pisces / South Node in Virgo, highlighting a broader evolutionary shift. Old habits of control, self-criticism, over-analysis, and fixing everything that feels imperfect are becoming less sustainable. There’s growing fatigue around productivity as a measure of worth. Fulfilment comes from the Piscean qualities of trust, intuition, compassion, imagination, and a willingness to proceed with uncertainty rather than immediately solve it. This isn’t about abandoning discernment. It’s about trusting that our innate discernment can guide us to live more intuitively.

The Full Moon and Moon’s Nodes form a Mystic Rectangle, a quietly powerful pattern that blends tension with ease. Opposing forces are connected by harmonious aspects that allow insight and integration. Rather than dramatic conflict, this pattern works through emotional intelligence and practical, thoughtful action. It favours a willingness to let contradictions exist without rushing to find a resolution, and to be conscious of finding creative solutions that address all sides, rather than avoiding issues and finding they arise explosively, or unexpectedly.

Overall, this Full Moon in Cancer encourages honest feelings, emotional awareness, and a recalibration between striving and flowing. We reap what we sow at the Full Moon, so pay attention to what you receive, how it sustains you, what quietly drains you, and allow that awareness to guide you toward standing quietly but firmly in your values as Saturn and Neptune draw closer in February.

I feel so excited about 2026 because it has the potential to be a year of profoundly positive change, one that decisively reshapes us and the world around us. This can be a year of awakening courage, spiritual renewal, and realignment of purpose. We are prompted to release old patterns and ways of thinking that no longer reflect who we are, and to step forward with greater trust in ourselves, our intuition, and our unique path. The energy of 2026 supports brave new beginnings, conscious leadership, and living with more authenticity, heart, and purpose.

The first thing we notice going into 2026 is the desire to fulfil our life purpose in a way that not only rewards our efforts financially but also nourishes the soul. Our work can be deeply impactful. This is not about empty striving or ego-driven success; it’s about aligning our actions in the world with who we truly are. Throughout 2026, we are learning how to balance discipline and responsibility with inspiration, action with intuition, and personal power with compassion. When we act from the heart, honour our inner wisdom, and trust the timing of our growth, we open the door to creating a life that feels expansive, creative, and is genuinely aligned with our soul’s calling.

Full Moon in Aquarius: Growth and Insight

Today’s Full Moon in Aquarius is quite fascinating, and although there are some energies to remain vigilant about, the influence is positively transformative.

The main theme of the Moon in Aquarius opposite the Sun in Leo is to be a powerful role model by championing the needs of the group ahead of self-entitlement. The Moon in Aquarius has an impersonal nature, and its logical, scientific, yet revolutionary energies nurture collective growth.

There are two major, powerful-but-positive star patterns in our skies during tonight’s Full Moon. The first is a KITE, which can lift us to new levels of existence or consciousness, helping us see the bigger picture and find constructive outlets for latent talents. The second is a MYSTIC RECTANGLE, guiding us toward positive solutions to building tensions.

Let’s look at the KITE first. A free-flowing grand trine between Pluto in Aquarius, Mars in Libra, and Uranus in Gemini encourages a desire for equanimity and the bridging of differences to bring major shifts and awakenings in humanity’s consciousness. Sextiles are also formed with focal planets Saturn and Neptune in Aries. The Neptune/Saturn in Aries theme we will experience over the next 12 months represents the “Spiritual Warrior.” Aries is a sign of passionate confrontation—fighting for what they believe in. With Aries’ ruler, Mars, in Libra, the fight becomes about justice, balance, fairness, and restoring harmony. I’m reminded of the mantra of the Fourth Ray: “Harmony through conflict, beauty and art.”

Full Moon in Aquarius, 9th August 2025, 5.25 pm ACST

The MYSTIC RECTANGLE also involves Pluto in Aquarius, Mars in Libra, and Saturn/Neptune in Aries, but it includes the faster-moving—and more personal—Mercury. Mercury, the Messenger, creates bridges of communication between disparities. Mercury in Leo finds highly creative ways to express thoughts and ideas, encouraging far-sighted yet intuitive leadership. Because Mercury is still retrograde, moving backwards through Leo, ideas or projects that had been put on the back burner can be reignited—this time with greater success.

Meanwhile, Venus and Jupiter are having their own little “love-in” in Cancer, enhancing feelings of love toward nurturing our families and loved ones. This is the perfect time to enjoy snuggling on the couch under a cosy blanket, with a big bowl of your favourite comfort food, your most cherished book, or your favourite company—human or pet.

We are in a long cycle of compelling and undeniable transformation. Sometimes that transformation feels like the shedding of skin—painful, leaving us raw and exposed. Yet with that pain and vulnerability also comes an awareness of something greater and more expansive than we could ever have imagined.

Full Moons are always a time of reaping what we have sown, using the fruits of our labour to invest in our continued growth, while also recognising that it will soon be time to let go of what inhibits us.

An analysis of the Death Chart of Pope Francis; time of death 7.35 am, Monday 21st April 2025 in Rome.

Pope Francis had his natal Sun in Sagittarius at 25 degrees, conjunct the North Node of fate at 24 degrees Sagittarius, and Jupiter in Capricorn, 3 degrees. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, and Saturn rules Capricorn. Jupiter in Capricorn is expansive yet traditional. Sun in Sagittarius is philosophical, enquiring, and idealistic.

The Pope had Cancer rising “I build a lighted house and therein dwell" at 10 degrees and Moon in Aquarius at 12 degrees. Cancer is ruled by The Moon, and Aquarius is ruled by Uranus (in modern astrology) and Saturn (in traditional astrology). Aquarius is on the Pope’s 8th house of death, and so his 8th house is ruled by both Saturn and Uranus. The Moon rules the Pope’s 1st house; the physical body and soul purpose on Earth.

Let’s see what was happening by transit to his chart.

The transiting Moon was exact to Pluto (death, transition, rebirth) at 3 degrees of Aquarius (ruler of the Pope’s 8th house of death). Transiting Moon had, within the last few hours, formed an opposition to the Pope’s natal Pluto (death, transition, rebirth) in his 1st house of physical body, and to Mars in Leo in his first house.

Normally, Mars in Leo in the first house brings vitality and energy to the physical body, however, it was forming an exact square (tension/difficulty) to the Sun in Ta**us, exact the Pope’s Midheaven (prominence and highest calling). Mars in Leo can bring too much fire to the body (high temperatures). Transiting Mercury (Messenger of the Gods) was under the rulership of Mars (in fire sign Aries), while also trining Mars. Mars is a planet of action and haste, and both Mercury and Mars were forming harsh aspects to the Pope’s natal Jupiter in his 6th house of ill health. Remember Jupiter in Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) was connected to the 8th house of death. Mercury delivered God’s message; it was the Pope’s time to be received.

Transiting Sun (1 Ta**us) was applying to a conjunction of the Pope’s natal Uranus (sudden, shocking liberation). Transiting Uranus 25 Ta**us (co-ruler of the Pope’s natal Moon) was sextile (fluid motion) transiting North Node (fate), Saturn (physical limitations), and Venus (love/attraction/reception), in the Pope’s 8th house of Death. Uranus assisted with the sudden liberation of the soul from the burdens of the physical body (Saturn). Ta**us is ruled by Venus, and Venus (both by transit and natally), was in the domain of the 8th house of death.

Transiting North Node (destiny), Saturn (physical limitations), and Venus (love) in the sign of Pisces; traditionally ruled by Jupiter; were in a hard aspect to the Pope’s natal North Node and Sun in Sagittarius in the 6th house of ill health. Transiting Saturn in Pisces and natal Jupiter in Capricorn were in mutual reception (receiving each other) in the houses of death and ill health.

Transiting Jupiter in Gemini was applying to an opposition of the Pope’s natal North Node/Sun in Sagittarius, and as mentioned already; connected to the 8th house.

I’ve found Jupiter to be prominent in the death charts I’ve studied. Jupiter is expansion, and upon death, the soul leaves the limitations of the physical body and expands into other dimensions.

I love that the Sun in Ta**us was on the Pope's Midheaven at the time of death, filling the moment with light and love (Venus).

March is tricky and stormy, with a lot happening in the cosmic skies, offering us a profound opportunity for healing and resolution.

It’s not only eclipse season, which I liken to being spun around with your eyes closed and pushed – you never know what surprises you’re in for - but both Venus and Mercury turn retrograde, starting in Aries and moving back into Pisces, concurrently. Both planets are in the waxing phase of their synodic cycle, giving them greater prominence and illumination in the sky and intensifying their energies.

Most people have heard of Mercury retrograde, which is an alchemical phase when Mercury appears to be moving backward, and being the "trickster" is known for causing disruptions to communications, contracts and contacts, travel, and technology. However, from an esoteric perspective, Mercury acts as a channel for insight between our lower and higher self, and contact with our intuitive natures. Just as alchemists seek to turn lead into gold, Mercury retrograde encourages us to refine our thoughts, discard false beliefs, and transmute challenges into wisdom. Mercury retrograde's secret message is to pause, reflect and realign.

Venus on the other hand, relates to the power of attraction, beauty, art, love and money. Venus is our inner goddess, our self-love and self-worth, our material values, and our soul connections. From an esoteric perspective, Venus retrograde is an inner pilgrimage that strips away illusions and glamours and teaches us that true love must first exist within. It is a time when we should step away from external validation and materialism, release toxic love patterns, and review old relationship wounds. We may find that shadow issues surrounding love, relationships, values, beauty standards, our finances and possessions, and addictions - which block creativity - are suddenly brought into focus before the inner work can commence.

A Pisces stellium intensifies our emotional depth, urging a shift in consciousness through themes of grief, compassion, healing, and release. As Pisces is the sign of salvation and surrender, this lunation calls for letting go of illusions, past attachments, and outdated emotional wounds. It also highlights endings, reorientation of consciousness, mysticism, art, and music. It encourages us to sacrifice personal will for a higher cause, flow with life's transitions, and embrace wisdom gained through experience, deepening our connection to soul and karmic ties. In moments of emotional overwhelm, we may experience emotional and spiritual breakthroughs, leading to wholeness and a greater spiritual consciousness.

The Saturn-North Node-Neptune alignment may bring emotional suffering or isolation, yet also offers a path to higher understanding, spiritual compassion, and the release of karmic ties. Pluto, unaspected at 2 degrees Aquarius, is a force of deep transformation and detachment, urging the death of the old self. As Mars approaches a trine to Saturn and a sextile to Uranus, grounded action and unexpected solutions may emerge, helping to bridge the past with the future; offering renewal and liberation from emotional entanglements. However, with the Sun and Moon squaring Jupiter in Gemini, we must also guard against self-aggrandisement, overconfidence, or putting our needs above others at the expense of our personal integrity.

There is no doubt that many of us will feel overwhelmed during March, so move gently and compassionately my friends, and don’t be surprised if you’re in a very different place - emotionally and spiritually - at the end of the month than at the commencement.

Full Moon in Leo for PISCES

You will need to balance servitude and daily work schedules, with a desire to retreat and find solitude. You may feel as though your views are undermined by the personal agendas and dramas of those around you, so creating space for reflection and rest will help you gain the clarity you seek. An unexpected communication or contract could disrupt your usual routines, requiring a change of environment. Mars has slowed in your creative, leisure, and romantic sectors, forcing you to take a more serious stance.
