We are beyond excited to present our upcoming art exhibition Where The Light Falls at Minor Works Building Community Centre

Where The Light Falls is a multi-disciplinary art exhibition featuring four emerging artists: Erina Davey, William McIver, Flaire Alfrey and Mikhael Crossfield. Presented by Phamily Family with support from the City of Adelaide as part of SALA Festival 2026.

The artists in Where The Light Falls each have a distinct relationship with light and colour in their practice. Together their work forms a conversation about what light does, aesthetically and symbolically.

Available to be viewed from 27th July - 23rd September during the community centre's opening hours.

Minor Works Building Community Centre, 22 Stamford Court, Adelaide SA 5000

We look forward to sharing this exhibition with you!

Our first-ever Phamily reunion!

It's not every day our whole team gets to be in the same room, but recently made it happen!

We gathered at Septimus Cheese & Wine Bar and celebrated the occasion with a cake that said "Happy 1st Family Reunion" (a little pun on our name πŸ˜‰).

Looking around the room, it was clear to see how much we've grown. More hands, more hearts, more capacity to show up for the people we support. πŸ’™

That means we're now able to welcome more participants for Youth Mentoring. If you know a young person with a disability who could benefit from some extra support, connection, and empowerment we'd love to hear from you.

Here's to family, growth, and the work ahead.

We want to keep you informed about a recent update from the NDIA regarding NDIS pricing.

The NDIA has released its Annual Pricing Review (APR) along with a new pricing schedule, which sets out the pricing guidance for NDIS supports for the 2026–27 year.

Our team is reviewing the update to make sure our pricing stays aligned with NDIA guidance while remaining fair and transparent for you. If this update leads us to propose any changes to your existing service agreement, we will always discuss this with you first.

If you have any questions about how this update may affect your services, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly, we're always happy to talk it through.

Thank you for your continued trust in Phamily Family. πŸ’™

Matthew from Phamily Family and Simon from Tao & Mind recently teamed up to deliver a training presentation to students at the Signet Institute of Australia.

The focus? What working in the sector looks like beyond the classroom.

Topics included:
βœ… Respecting participants autonomy
βœ… Support as a capacity-building model, not a clinical one
βœ… What it means to be truly present
βœ… Being a positive role model
βœ… Providing meaningful choices
βœ… What employers look for in workers

Equipping students with this kind of real-world perspective early on helps prepare them to make a positive impact when entering the workforce. We are proud to be part of building a more values-driven future for the sector. πŸ’™

Meet Susan! 🌟

Fifteen years in the employment industry has made Susan an invaluable force on the Phamily Family team.

She takes a step-by-step approach to helping people build confidence, develop new skills and find meaningful work that matches their goals. Her role as an employment specialist means she works closely with employers, giving her a deep understanding of what workplaces are looking for.

Outside of work, Susan is a dog-loving fashionista with a passion for fitness and a serious eye for interior design.

Susan is a true gem, and we're beyond grateful to call her part of our Phamily!

June 18th is Autism Pride Day!

Today we celebrate the extraordinary strengths that Autistic people bring to our workplaces and communities every single day.
Often in the NDIS sector there is a focus on Autism as a disability and autistic traits as functional limitations. It’s built into how the system works: a diagnosis is contingent on a person’s experiencing significant impact and funding is based on their support needs. But while there is emphasis on what barriers a diagnosis might pose, there are also so many positive aspects and reasons why Autism should be celebrated.

When social, communication and neurological differences are understood, respected and accommodated, these positives are amplified. Intense or special interests is expertise and enthusiasm. Repetitive behaviours and a need for fixed routines and schedules is reliability. A focus on patterns is pattern recognition and the ability to spot connections, inconsistencies, and solutions that others miss. A need for clear expectations can bring structure and clarity. A direct communication style is honesty with no hidden agenda and no mixed messages. They're strengths to celebrate.

It's also important to remember: every Autistic person is different. There is no single Autistic experience. Each person brings their own unique combination of strengths, perspectives and ways of moving through the world.

True inclusion means creating spaces where everyone can contribute as their full selves. It means moving beyond tolerance toward genuine appreciation of different minds.

To every Autistic person in our community: you are not a problem to be solved. You are a perspective to be valued. πŸ’›

What wins are you celebrating this week? We are celebrating Declan and Craig, who have had a great win (just look at those smiles)!

Craig has been supporting Declan on his journey to finding work, with great success. After starting out in work experience with a local bus company cleaning their fleet, Declan is now in paid employment with the potential for permanent ongoing work. A fantastic and well-earned outcome for Declan that speaks to his dedication and hard work throughout the process.

Stories like this are a reminder of what's possible when the right support is in place. For Declan, it started with a chance to build confidence, develop skills, and prove himself in a real workplace environment. For the employer, it was an opportunity to welcome a committed and capable new team member. It's a win-win.

If you or someone you know is looking for support to find meaningful employment, we'd love to help make it happen!

Getting outside does something that's hard to replicate anywhere else. 🌿

Fresh air, new surroundings and a change of scenery can do wonders for confidence, mood and social connection. Community access isn't just about going places. It's about building the skills and confidence to feel comfortable in the world around you.

Whether that's exploring a new suburb, heading to a local market or just spending time somewhere different, these moments matter more than they might seem.

If you're looking for support to get out and about, we'd love to help make that happen.
