I am incredibly proud to announce that Paizo is partnering with Little Athletics SA for the Beyond Barriers Para Pathway Program. Proudly supported by the

This wonderful initiative aims to create an inclusive pathway for young athletes of all abilities to participate in athletics. The program is designed for children aged 6–17 with a physical, intellectual, or hidden disability, providing an entry point to sport.

The Beyond Barriers Para Pathway Program is hosted at the SA Athletics Stadium in Mile End, every second Saturday morning.

At Paizo, we believe every child deserves the chance to experience the joy of sport without pressure. It’s a privilege to support a program that prioritises connection, confidence, and community!

Why we’re obsessed with babies playing in side-lying (and why your baby might just love it too):

When lying on their side your baby won’t need to worry so much about head control. Instead they get a lovely view of their hands, a toy, your face or in Miss C’s case above, a mirror!

Side-lying can help your baby:

⇒ Use their hands and eyes for playing while their head is supported
⇒ Bring both hands together (a typical part of development)
⇒ Bring their hands to mouth for exploring and calming
⇒ Use their hands to reach, grasp and explore �⇒ Build strength and control for rolling
⇒ As another play position (along with time lying on their back and tummy)
⇒ It’s a nice way to combat flat spots too.

HOW?�
⇒ Place baby on their back and then gently roll to their side
⇒ I like to add a little folded towel under their head
⇒ Keep their head in line with their body
⇒ Bring their arms forward
⇒ You may want to bend their top leg forwards too

Needing that little extra support?
⇒ Place a rolled-up towel or stuffed toy in front of their chest and/or behind their back (or you can use your body as a support here too)

And don’t forget to spend time on both sides 👶

We believe in helping to build safe, inclusive and connected communities for children and families.

To us, community is where everyday life happens. It’s where children learn best- in the places they spend their time and feel most themselves. That’s why our therapy happens in real-life settings.

You’ll find us in homes, childcare centres, schools, local playgrounds- wherever children live, learn, play and connect.

By using everyday activities and daily routines, we make therapy meaningful, practical and effective.
