The signs aren’t about them. They’re for you.
After a breakup people often experience a lot of things they may call signs, messages, synchronicities that remind them of their ex partner.
Often creating deep emotions and desire to reconnect or communicate what they are seeing or experiencing with that person.
However, in my experience of working with people through the love cycle it is rarely about the other person.
Our Spirit Guides show us things to get our attention not about other people but about ourselves.
Just because the signs remind you of someone doesn’t mean they are about them.
They are for you.
It is your journey.
When going through a breakup there are lessons to be learned, reflection to be had, and integration to take place.
The signs being shown are to help one understand those very things.
Learning how to experience moments with oneself without needing to share them with anyone else is part of the lesson.
To be whole on our own.
Even though something may remind us of another person, it does not necessarily mean it is about them. Sometimes it is about what we are learning, healing, and experiencing within ourselves.
When we begin awakening to ourselves, life often starts speaking to us in different ways. The signs, synchronicities, and moments that catch our attention become invitations to look within.
The lessons we learn after a breakup are the very lessons that teach us how to create and maintain healthy relationships.
Through my marriage, I have learned that each person is their own independent person on their own journey of growth.
Being in a relationship does not mean becoming one person, it is more like a ☯️ two different halves that create a whole while still remaining true to themselves.
Over the past 14 years, my husband and I have both gone through periods where we lost parts of ourselves and needed to find our way back again. Sometimes those challenges were personal. Sometimes they affected us both.
What held us together through those seasons was not dependence on one another. It was our independent foundations and our commitment to personal growth.
When one person was struggling, the other continued moving forward, holding space and leading by example while the other found themselves again.
If we were both dependent on one another, we may never have made it through those times.
A healthy union is not about losing yourself in another person, creating co dependency.
It is about two people supporting one another unconditionally as they continue to learn, experience, change, and grow on their own.
If couples continue to participate in their own personal growth and treat one another as equals throughout the process, this is what my Spirit Guides call the Holy Grail, the Soulmate connection. Available to any couple willing to do the work independently yet together.
So if you keep seeing signs, perhaps instead of asking, “What do they mean about this person?” ask yourself:
“What are they showing me about myself?”
“What did I learn from the experience?”
“What can I be grateful for?”
“What can I do differently in the future?”
The answers are within, not outside ourselves. The sign may have reminded you of them but it is what you do with the sign that truly matters.
If you are meant to be with that person, trust that what is meant for you will not pass you by. The Universe has a way of aligning people at the right time, after the lessons have been learned and the growth has taken place.
This is not something that can be forced, controlled, or chased. In fact, trying to hold on to what has ended can often create more resistance and delay the very growth that is being asked of us.
Sometimes a relationship needs to be treated as though it is truly over so that closure can occur and healing can begin. Only then do both people have the space to grow independently, learn the lessons they came here to learn, and become who they are meant to be. If, in divine timing, your paths align again, you will meet each other as different people carrying the wisdom gained from the journey apart.
As the saying goes, if you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it was meant to be. If it doesn’t, trust that the journey unfolded exactly as it was meant to.
