Some exciting news for naturopathy!

After years of advocacy, we're finally seeing some positive changes.

Many of you will remember that private health rebates for naturopathy were removed back in 2019.

I'm so pleased to share that provider numbers have now been reinstated with ARHG and CBHS, making it possible for eligible members to once again claim rebates for naturopathic consultations through these funds (depending on their level of cover).

This is a really positive step towards recognising the role that naturopathy can play in supporting people's health.

If you're insured with ARHG or CBHS and you've seen me recently, please send me an email if you'd like an updated receipt issued for claiming purposes. I'd be more than happy to organise this for you.

Now we're keeping our fingers crossed that other major funds, including Medibank, Bupa and HCF follow suit in the near future.

I'll be sure to keep you updated as I hear more.

Here's to another step forward for natural healthcare!

With after-school sport taking over our afternoons lately, I've been leaning on one of my favourite strategies... **lap meals** 🚗🏃‍♀️

If your evenings are anything like ours, you'll know the juggle. One child finishes here, another starts there, and before you know it, takeaway starts looking very tempting!

Instead, I love having nourishing meals ready to heat up and pop into a thermos before we head out.

These school holidays I made:
🍛 Mingle Butter Chicken with roasted cauliflower and pumpkin
🍝 Lasagne

Both freeze beautifully and are perfect to rotate through on busy sport nights.

The term **"lap meals"** comes from , and I think it's such a brilliant concept. Rather than grabbing fast food between activities, you've got a warm, homemade meal ready to eat wherever the evening takes you.

It takes a little planning, but it saves so much time, money and stress during the week.

Future you will be very grateful when you're sitting at the netball courts, football oval or swimming pool with a hot, nourishing dinner already sorted.

Do you have a favourite meal that works well in a thermos? I'd love some new ideas to add to our rotation! 👇

🎧 Podcast recommendation for every woman.

If you're looking for something to listen to on your next walk, commute or while folding the washing, I highly recommend this episode of *The Diary of a CEO*.

It features hormone and fertility experts discussing so many of the questions I hear in clinic every week.

Topics include:
💛 irregular periods
💛 endometriosis
💛 perimenopause
💛 fertility
💛 the best nutrition approaches for hormone health
💛 exercise and how it impacts hormones

What I really enjoyed about this episode is that it's a long-form conversation.

There's time to explain the *why* behind women's health, rather than reducing everything to a 30-second social media clip or the latest trending supplement.

You won't agree with every opinion in every podcast you listen to—and that's okay. I always encourage people to stay curious, ask questions, and look at the evidence. I found this episode to be a thoughtful discussion that raises some really important points about women's health.

If you've been feeling confused by all the hormone advice on social media, this is a great place to start.

Have a listen, and I'd love to know what you think. If there's something discussed in the episode you'd like me to explain further, let me know in the comments or send me a message.

✨ One of my favourite parts of my job is hearing the wins from my patients.

I recently had a lovely message from a patient who had started taking marine collagen as part of her perimenopause support.

Here's what she shared:

Within a week, I noticed there was much less hair on my hairbrush.

By four weeks, my hairdresser was amazed at how much new hair growth I had.

I've also noticed my skin looks healthier and has more of a glow.

She finished by saying...

'It's been life-changing.'

Hearing feedback like this is incredibly rewarding.

While everyone's experience is different, marine collagen can be a wonderful addition for people looking to support healthy hair, skin and nails—particularly during perimenopause, when hormonal changes can affect collagen production and many women notice changes in their hair and skin.

As always, I encourage looking at the bigger picture too. Hair health is influenced by many factors, including protein intake, iron levels, thyroid health, stress, hormones and overall nutrition. Marine collagen is one piece of the puzzle, but for the right person it can be a valuable one.

If you've been noticing changes in your hair or skin during perimenopause, I'd love to help you work out what's driving those changes and what might support you best.

Marine collagen is one of my favourite supplements for supporting healthy skin, hair and nails.

If you're looking to support your skin from the inside out, marine collagen is a fantastic addition to your daily routine.

One of my favourite products is **Orthoplex Pure Marine Collagen** because:'

✔️ It has virtually no taste.
✔️ It dissolves easily into your morning coffee, yoghurt or smoothie.
✔️ It provides 5 g of high-quality marine collagen per serve.
✔️ One tub lasts around 2 months when taken daily.

People often ask me about collagen, and one of the biggest misconceptions is that all collagen is the same.

🦴 **Bovine collagen** is rich in Type I and III collagen, making it my preferred choice for supporting **bones, muscles, joints and connective tissue.**

✨ **Marine collagen** is predominantly Type I collagen, making it ideal for **skin, hair and nail health.**

Another bonus? It's excellent value. At around **$69.95 for a two-month supply**, it provides the same daily collagen dose that would cost significantly more with some of the popular single-serve sachet brands. They may have flashier marketing, but this product is the real deal.

As with any supplement, collagen works best alongside a nourishing diet, adequate protein, vitamin C and regular strength training to support your body's own collagen production.

Have you tried marine collagen before? I'd love to hear if you've noticed a difference!

I love simple tasty dinners, so I'm bringing you another one straight from my kitchen.

Marion's kitchen Thai Green Curry is the best!
It's truly such a simple meal to make.

This time I made it with prawns, which was so yum. You can use any protein and veg combination that you and your family enjoy, which is the beauty of a meal like this.

I find that having a couple of boxes of meal bases like this one really helps on super busy nights, as there isn't much thinking involved and everyone loves it.

Have you ever wondered what your blood sugar is doing throughout the day?

This is where a **Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM)** can be incredibly interesting.

A CGM is a small sensor worn on the back of your arm that measures your glucose levels throughout the day and night, giving you real-time insight into how your body responds to:

🍽️ different foods
🏃‍♀️ exercise
😴 sleep
😌 stress

It can be a really powerful learning tool.

Many people are surprised to discover that the foods they thought were healthy send their blood sugar soaring, while others keep them feeling satisfied and energised for much longer.

It's not about striving for perfection or becoming obsessed with numbers.

It's about understanding your body.

When you know how your body responds, you can make small, sustainable changes that support:

✨ steadier energy
✨ better focus
✨ fewer afternoon crashes
✨ improved metabolic health

Sometimes the best health decisions come from replacing guesswork with information. So i say yay to trying a CGM as a tool to better understand your body, and therefore improve your health.

Have you ever worn a Continuous Glucose Monitor, or would you be curious to try one?

I’ve shared this podcast so many times… and for good reason.

It’s an episode from The Diary of a CEO featuring insulin & fatty liver expert Dr David Unwin, and it’s one of the most grounded, practical conversations I’ve heard around blood sugar and metabolic health.

What I loved most was how his understanding didn’t come from a textbook alone… but from his patients over 40 years.

He began noticing patterns:
🍞 simple carbohydrates like bread and rice were significantly impacting blood glucose levels
⚡ energy levels were fluctuating more than expected
🍽️ people were often hungry again shortly after eating

When he made dietary changes himself, he experienced something many of his patients were already telling him:
✨ improved energy
✨ better focus
✨ reduced constant hunger

He also went on to reverse his own type 2 diabetes — which really reinforced what he was seeing in clinic.

But what makes this episode so powerful isn’t just the science.

It’s the way he speaks about it.

Calm. Slow. No fear. No shame.

He also explores something really important:
▪ behavioural change and food “addictions”
▪ the power of storytelling in helping people understand health
▪ simple, actionable steps to improve insulin sensitivity and blood glucose control

It feels less like a lecture and more like guidance — which is exactly how health conversations should feel.

If you’ve ever felt confused or overwhelmed about carbohydrates, blood sugar, or energy crashes, this is a really beautiful episode to listen to.

Not to create fear around food, but to create awareness and options.

If you listen to it, let me know what you think, we can have a conversation below 👇

Sunday meal prep is one of my favourite reset rituals for the week.

There’s something so grounding about having simple, nourishing food ready to go — it just makes everything feel easier when Monday rolls around.

This week’s prep looks like:
🥒 zucchini slice
🍗 cooked chicken
🥚 boiled eggs
🍚 rice

Nothing fancy… just real food that works.

When you’ve got the basics ready to grab, lunch stops becoming a stressful decision and turns into something quick, balanced, and nourishing.

It also makes it so much easier to:
✨ stay on track with protein
✨ support energy through the day
✨ pack kids lunchboxes!

I always come back to this idea — health doesn’t have to be complicated, but it does need preparation.

Do you meal prep? I'd love to hear about it.

Fracture risk is not just about bone density.

This is really important to understand, because it's easy to think that having good bone density automatically means no fractures.

But that’s only part of the picture.

Fracture risk is actually the combination of:

▪bone density

AND

▪fall risk

Fall risk is just as important — if not more.

Here’s what that means in real life 👇

You can have:
✨ reasonable or even good bone density
and still fracture if you fall badly

OR

You can have:
✨ lower bone density
and *never fracture*
if your balance, reflexes, and coordination are strong

Because the body is incredibly intelligent.

If you stumble, your nervous system kicks in to:

* correct your balance
* protect your joints
* adjust your posture
* reduce impact

This is called **neuromuscular control**, and it plays a huge role in preventing injury.

Which is why bone health training should never be just about bones.

It needs to include:
💪 strength training
🦴 impact loading
🧘‍♀️ balance work
⚡ coordination and reflex training

The goal is not only stronger bones…

It’s a body that knows how to protect itself when something unexpected happens.

Because real-world fracture risk isn’t just about density on a scan.

It’s about how your body responds in the moment.

If you need help with your bond density, or any of the things I've mentioned in my last few posts on bone health, please get in touch. My DM's are always open.
