From surgery to sport 🙌🏉

After a football injury and thumb surgery in Melbourne, this patient was referred to our Hand Therapy team at Riverina OT for follow-up care.

By working closely with surgeons and using joint Telehealth appointments, we help make post-op rehab more accessible for regional patients.

Just 5 weeks post-surgery, he’s regained almost full thumb movement and strength — and is now fitted with a custom football guard for a safe return to sport.

At Riverina Occupational Therapy, our Hand Therapy team supports people through recovery, rehabilitation, and getting back to the everyday moments that matter most. Their care, skill, and commitment make a real difference in the lives of our clients and community every day.

Meet our team, left to right:
Amy Nagle – Amy has been part of the Riverina OT team since 2020.Amy is passionate about helping people regain hand function and return to the activities they love.

Laura Davis – Laura loves supporting clients through each stage of their recovery journey, from post-surgery through to discharge, and finds it incredibly rewarding to see people get back to doing the things that are important to them.

Amy Griffith – Amy is an Accredited Hand Therapist with the Australian Hand Therapy Association. Her qualification reflects years of dedicated training, mentorship, and clinical experience, all of which support the high-quality care she brings to clients every day.

✨We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Hand Therapist, Laura! ✨

Laura will be available for new and returning Hand Therapy clients on Tuesday's and Wednesdays in Albury 😍

Laura has been an Occupational Therapist for around 10 years now (graduating with one of our other OT's Molly) in this time, she has worked in a range of different areas including acute, community, aged care, NDIS, hospitals, and private practice. Laura has worked in Hand Therapy since 2022.

In the Hand Therapy space, Laura really enjoys seeing the progress people make - seeing them right after surgery to discharging them. She feels great knowing that people can return to the full use of their hand, or get back to doing the things they love! 🫶

Outside of work, Laura is a Mum to a one year old which takes up a lot of her time! She also really enjoys getting out into the outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing etc. as well as getting outdoors with her dog 🐾

On Thursday we had our inaugural Riverina OT planning day. 🙌

We began the day with a breath work class courtesy of then stopped by for a coffee hit on the way back to the office ☕️

It was great to have all our staff from both Wagga and Albury in the one room, we would like to extend a big thank you to for catering morning tea and lunch🤤
