How fast one year has gone! I couldn't be prouder to have Eliza as part of the Capable Juniors Academy team.

Eliza has accomplished so much in just over 12 months with CJA, and I am forever grateful for the way she consistently goes above and beyond—particularly over the last four months.

Her dedication, compassion, and willingness to step up whenever needed have made such a difference, not only to our team but also to the children and families we support.

Anyone who has the pleasure of working with Eliza is in fabulous hands. She brings kindness, professionalism, patience, and genuine care to everything she does. She is an incredible advocate for the children she supports and an even better teammate.

Thank you, Eliza, for believing in the Capable Juniors vision (and me!), for always giving your best, and for helping Capable Juniors Academy continue to grow.

I truly couldn't imagine this journey without you.

And finally... your famous last words, Eliza... "I'm your ride or die." ❤️ Thank you for being exactly that. Your loyalty, friendship, and unwavering support mean more than you'll ever know.

Here's to many more years of friendship, team work and collaboration!

💚 A Night of Learning, Connection and Inclusion 💚

Last night I had the pleasure of presenting a professional development session on Neurodiversity with the incredible team at Village Early Education Wodonga.

As someone who is passionate about supporting children, families, and educators, it is always rewarding to see early childhood professionals come together with such enthusiasm, openness, and commitment to learning.

The thoughtful discussions, shared experiences, and genuine desire to better understand and support neurodiverse children made for a truly meaningful evening.

Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, understood, and capable. By building our knowledge and embracing neurodiversity, we can create environments that celebrate individual strengths and provide the support children need to thrive.

I am incredibly grateful to the Village team for welcoming me so warmly and for their dedication to inclusive practice. Your commitment to continuous learning will undoubtedly make a positive difference in the lives of the children and families you support every day.

Thank you for the opportunity to share, learn, and grow together.

🌱 Inclusion starts with understanding, and understanding starts with conversation.

🌱 Investing in our team means investing in our children. 🌱

At Village, we believe that ongoing professional development is essential to providing the highest quality care, education, and support for our little villagers. As the needs of children and families continue to evolve, so too should our knowledge, understanding, and practices.

That’s why we are committed to creating opportunities for our educators to learn, grow, and strengthen their skills. Professional development not only enhances the confidence and capability of our team, but also ensures that every child is supported to thrive in an inclusive, nurturing environment.

Tonight, we are fortunate to welcome Chantelle from Capable Juniors Academy, who is leading an in-service professional development session focused on Neurodiversity. This valuable learning opportunity will help our educators deepen their understanding of neurodiverse children and explore practical strategies to better support every child’s unique strengths, needs, and way of learning.

A huge thank you to Chantelle for sharing her expertise and helping us continue our journey of learning and growth. Together, we can create environments where all children feel valued, understood, and empowered to succeed. 💚

As we see out yet another week, we want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank Jeanette Moreland, Co-Founder of Capable Juniors Academy, as she steps away from her role as Director and Behaviour Support Practitioner with CJ.

Chantelle and Jeanette started Capable Juniors Academy together, taking a leap of faith with a shared vision of supporting children and families in ways that are respectful, collaborative and genuinely meaningful.

Over her time with CJ, Jeanette has contributed her knowledge, support for families, and strong advocacy for our participants. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner and supervising practitioner, she has worked alongside many children and families with care and dedication.

Jeanette has made the decision to continue her behaviour support work outside of Capable Juniors Academy, allowing her to balance the needs of her own family while continuing the work she is passionate about.

Capable Juniors Academy would not be what it is today without the step Chantelle and Jeanette took together when founding the service, and that shared beginning will always be an important part of our story.

We thank Jeanette for the role she has played in the growth of Capable Juniors Academy and for the impact she has had on the families she has worked with. We wish her all the very best in the next chapter of her professional journey.

🎉✨ Happy 40th Birthday to our incredible Co-Founder & Director, Jeanette! ✨🎉

Today we celebrate not just a milestone birthday… but the powerhouse woman behind so much of Capable Juniors Academy 💙

Jeanette’s depth of knowledge, unwavering dedication and fierce advocacy for children and families is something truly special.

As a supervising Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner, she leads with integrity, compassion and strength — mentoring our team, guiding complex cases and ensuring families feel supported, respected and genuinely heard.

She is deeply passionate about making positive change in the lives of children and their families. She leads in a way that is collaborative — because she truly believes every voice matters when supporting each individual child.

Jeanette is approachable, steady and grounded — someone families can trust. And above all, she remains positive about the potential in every child, even in the most complex circumstances.

✨ From 2016… to Capable Juniors Academy 💙 ✨
Back in 2016, before Capable Juniors Academy was even an idea, Chantelle and Eliza were working side-by-side in a specialist school.

Chantelle was the classroom teacher.
Eliza was her Teacher’s Aide.

What started as a classroom partnership quickly became something deeper — a shared commitment to inclusive practice, a mutual respect for each other’s strengths, and countless conversations about how children with diverse needs deserved better systems of support.

Eliza was one of the most dedicated Teacher’s Aides anyone could ask for — supporting one another through the many emotions that come with working in a specialist school setting (and let’s be honest… any school setting).

She was there to collaborate, to bounce ideas off, to problem-solve in the hard moments, and to help create a classroom environment filled with growth, regulation, laughter and so many hard-earned achievements.

Side-by-side each day, they would leave having created a beautifully prepared, inclusive environment — ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Her natural ability to connect with students who needed someone to truly see them stood out early on. She understood that behaviour wasn’t “bad” — it was communication. And she responded with patience, reflection and heart.

That same heart she brings into the classroom extends into her own world — as a wife to Cameron, mum to Charlotte and Maddison, dog-mum to Millie, and netball GK who somehow still finds time to bake and decorate the most incredible cakes 🎂🐾

As Eliza later stepped into her teaching role and completed her Master’s in Inclusive Education, that foundation only strengthened. When she and Chantelle moved into a job-share teaching role together, their partnership grew even deeper — built on trust, shared philosophy and a united approach to supporting all learners.

While Eliza wasn’t part of CJ at its beginning, she understood the heart behind it. She saw the vision. She knew the possibilities of what could be created in the years ahead — a service grounded in lived experience, professional expertise and genuine compassion for families navigating barriers.

Fast forward to today, and that shared journey has come full circle.

From a specialist classroom in 2016…
To working side-by-side again at Capable Juniors Academy 💛

CJ wasn’t created overnight.
It was shaped by years of collaboration, professional growth and a shared belief that:

💙 All behaviour is communication.
💙 Every child deserves to feel capable.
💙 Families deserve support, not judgement.

And having Eliza as part of the CJ team now feels less like coincidence — and more like everything aligning exactly as it should.

And we’re only just getting started.

✨ Team Spotlight – Meet Emma (“Em”) ✨

Hairdresser by trade… compliance superstar by destiny 🙌

Emma (affectionately known as Em) may be one of our newest team members at Capable Juniors Academy, but the impact she has made in such a short time has been incredible.

As an Approved NDIS Provider, compliance and documentation can feel like mountains of paperwork — especially as we approach our mid-term audit. Em has stepped in with calm, clarity and serious organisational skills, easing the burden on our entire team and helping us feel confident, prepared and supported.

Quite honestly… she’s been the steady hand we didn’t know we needed 💛

Outside of work, Em is a proud mum of four and runs what can only be described as a small zoo at home (cats, dogs — you name it!). She is deeply passionate about helping people with barriers feel supported, accepted and understood. She believes neurodivergence isn’t something to fear — it’s something to understand, embrace and work with.

We are so grateful to have Em as a valued member of the CJ family 💙

💛 Who’s up next for a CJ spotlight?

😄 Careful, Em… this might be your next role once the audit’s over!
