Some moments remind us just how special our profession really is. ❤️👓

Our optometrist, Mark Wilson, is currently in Hastings, England, to visit his father and couldn’t resist stopping by the family optometry practice that has been caring for the local community for over 80 years—across three generations.

Mark’s father, now 88 years young, dedicated 65 years to the family business and finally retired at the remarkable age of 84. He knew it was the right time to pass the torch—but his legacy lives on in Mark.

From one generation to the next, this family’s passion for helping people to see their best has never wavered. It’s a story of dedication, resilience, and a lifelong commitment to patient care.

We’re incredibly proud of Mark and the family legacy he represents, and grateful for his service here at Eyecare Plus Avalon Beach! ❤️

So I taught the team how to recycle soft plastics…
And then I found coffee cup lids, hard plastic service cards and business card holders confidently thrown in with them 😬

Friendly reminder:
✔️ Soft plastics = scrunchable, stretchy, bread-bag vibes
❌ Hard plastics = rigid, crunchy, absolutely not invited

Recycling is a learning curve - even for adults with fully developed eyesight 😉♻️

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is an advanced treatment used to manage Dry Eye Disease, especially when it’s linked to meibomian gland dysfunction.

How does IPL work?
Gentle pulses of light are applied to the skin around the eyes. This helps:

💫 Improve oil flow from the meibomian glands
💫 Support a healthier tear film

What to expect during a session:
