A great night of training alongside our friends at the Paynesville Fire Brigade.

Tonight we got hands-on with pumping operations at the old Bairnsdale Fire Station, putting our skills to the test and working together as a crew.

Always a great opportunity to train together, share knowledge and strengthen our teamwork!

🚒 Training Night 🚒

This week’s training focused on lock-in scenarios, giving our members the opportunity to practise gaining entry to both vehicles and residential properties.

These practical training sessions are essential in ensuring our firefighters continue to build and maintain the skills, and knowledge required to respond effectively.

A big thank you to Buchan Towing for generously donating a vehicle for us to use during this week’s training.

🚨ATTENTION – NATIONAL EMERGENCY ALERT TEST🚨

On Monday, 27 July 2026, at 2:00 pm AEST, a national test of Australia's new emergency alert system, AusAlert, will take place in Victoria.

During the test, you may receive an alert on your mobile phone. This is only a test and no action is required.

The purpose of the test is to ensure the new system is working correctly and to help Australians become familiar with how emergency alerts will look and sound in the future.

Please don't be alarmed if you receive the notification, and consider letting family, friends and neighbours know about the scheduled test.

Stay informed. Stay prepared. 🚒

After 12 years as Captain of Bairnsdale Fire Brigade, today marks the end of a chapter for Aaron Lee as he hands over the rank of Captain to Charles Stansfield.

For more than a decade, Aaron has led our brigade with dedication, professionalism and commitment, putting our community first. His leadership has helped shape our brigade into what it is today, and his contribution over the past 12 years has been outstanding.

While Aaron is stepping down as Captain, he isn’t stepping away. We are pleased that he will continue serving the brigade as our 2nd Lieutenant, bringing his experience and knowledge to support our members and our new Captain.

On behalf of everyone at Bairnsdale Fire Brigade, thank you, Aaron, for your leadership, countless hours of service, and commitment to our brigade and community. We look forward to seeing you continue to make a difference in your new role.

Congratulations Aaron! 👏🚒

Yesterday we celebrated Allan Cracknell and his incredible milestones within the CFA.

Surrounded by family, friends, and his CFA family, Allan was presented with his framed Secretary epaulettes, his mounted Fire Investigation helmet, and in recognition of his outstanding dedication, the Bairnsdale Fire Brigade meeting room has officially been named the Allan Cracknell Meeting Room.

We sincerely thank Allan for his remarkable service to both our brigade and the wider CFA community. Over the years, Allan has served as Brigade Secretary under 6 different Bairnsdale Fire Brigade Captains, dedicated 26 years as a Fire Investigator attending and investigating 180 fires, and achieved an incredible 32 years of service as Secretary.

Allan, your commitment, knowledge, and dedication has left a lasting impact on our brigade and community. Congratulations, what an amazing milestone! 🚒
