On 9 August, we recognise the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples and celebrate the rich cultures, knowledge and contributions of First Nations peoples.

Across Queensland, Neighbourhood and Community Centres provide welcoming and culturally safe spaces where people can connect, access support, build skills and feel a sense of belonging.

Together, we celebrate the strength, resilience and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to our communities.

Every positive change begins with one small step. If you've been thinking about quitting smoking or va**ng, today is a great day to start.
Quitting isn't about being perfect—it's about choosing your health, your family and your future. Every smoke-free and vape-free day gives your body a chance to heal, improves your wellbeing and sets a positive example for those around you.
Remember, you don't have to do it alone. There is support available every step of the way. Whether you're ready to quit today or simply thinking about it, every effort counts.

Let's continue to support one another in creating a healthier workplace and stronger community.

Need support?
Talk to Narelle or Theresa from the Tackling Indigenous Smoking Team or call Quitline on 13 7848.
