To the dads, partners and hardworking blokes carrying more than just the heavy lifting — this one's for you.
You're the one who gets up early, takes care of business, and keeps everyone else going. So when your back starts aching, you do what you've always done: push through and get on with it.
But your family notices the things you push down.
When your back hurts day after day, it doesn't stay in your back. The ACA's 2026 research shows nearly 70% of people with back pain say it affects their mental health too — and for a lot of men, it quietly becomes one more weight to carry on top of work, money and family. It shows up at home: less energy for the kids, a shorter fuse at dinner, too sore and tired by the evening to be the dad or partner you actually want to be.
Here's what we want you to know: that's not just "getting older," and it's not something you have to grin and bear. Caught early, back pain is so much easier to turn around — and the earlier the better, because long-term back pain is on the rise (up from 30% of sufferers in 2024 to 44% in 2026).
This is exactly why we're building Function to Flow in Bathurst — a place where the whole family can come to feel better and move better, dads included. Because looking after yourself isn't taking away from your family. It's one of the best things you can do for them.
It's Spinal Health Month, and the message is a good one to take to heart: a healthy spine supports a healthy mind.
