After leaving the beautiful comfortable hotel and our friend kimmi; it was time to start our "real" backpacking trip.
The easy way- taxi
Our way- Bus
After waiting for the bus for around 15 minutes, it arrived at which we realised we needed a swipe card to get onto the bus. So at this point I used my very limited bus lingo Spanish to find out how to get a card. A lovely local told me where and we were off to purchase our bip card but soon after she stopped us and offered us her spare one from her wallet and walked us to where we needed to go to recharge!! So unbelievably kind!! We saved 1500 pesos which is around $3 !!
Topped our card up at the banco and we were back at the bus stop.
We seemed to figure out the stops to some degree and although we got off a few too many stops it was only a short walk to the hostel and I like to look at it as a little extra exercise for the amount of cervezas 🍻 and Pan 🍞 we have been consuming👌🏽 nailed the bus 🚌 now to learn the metro 🚋
