Our annual Fassifern Health & Wellness Expo brought together community members and local health practitioners and mental health, disability, family support and counselling services.

The event also featured a barbeque lunch, art stations, raffles, yarning circle, and children's activities.

What a night we had last night supporting Scenic Rim Councils homelessness awareness event, Under The Same Stars....

Our very own Carinity Fassifern Community Centre Manager, Rhys Wilson, says it was an absolute pleasure to join The Salvation Army to provide amazing food and run the coffee van for the event.

A huge shout out to Scenic Rim Council, The Salvos, Beaucare, Jon Krause, all the guests and panellists on the night and of course all who attended.

What a powerful message to those affected by homelessness, emphasizing that they matter, their community sees them, and they are not alone!

The Carinity Fassifern Community Centre are proudly supporting Scenic Rims Under The Same Stars event to raise awareness and funds to help support the local people doing it tough and the organisations walking alongside them.

The Under the Same Stars event is a community-led initiative aimed at raising awareness and addressing homelessness and housing insecurity. The event will feature a night of connection, understanding, and action for local leaders, businesses, community organizations, service providers, and council staff.

Participants will share meals, hear from people with lived experience, connect with local services, and sleep under the stars to help raise awareness of this issue in our region. This event is a powerful message to those affected by homelessness, emphasizing that they matter, their community sees them, and they are not alone!

Would you like to make a valuable contribution to your community?

Carinity Fassifern Community Centre is Boonah's very own funded Neighbourhood Centre's Queensland - Community Centre, and we are always welcoming more volunteers to support our programs and clients.

Roles include catering in our café, garden & grounds maintenance, administration & logistics, and community outreach including providing practical support to the local community.

We welcome passionate people who are willing to lend a hand and give back to the Scenic Rim community. There is no commitment required and full training is provided.

If you’ve ever thought about a new career in aged care or disability support, now is the perfect time to get qualified as there is NO COST to participants. The training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.
