Sometimes regulation doesn't look like sitting still.

Sometimes it looks like climbing high, finding a quiet space, taking a deep breath, and simply being.

Many neurodivergent children naturally seek spaces that help their bodies feel organised. They instinctively look for opportunities to move, climb, squeeze, balance or retreat because these experiences help their nervous system process the world around them.

At Neurodiverse Playhouse Spring Hill, we don't stop children from seeking what their bodies needโ€”we help them do it safely, intentionally and through play.
Because when a child's body feels calm...
their brain is far more available for learning, connecting and growing.

โœจ Play isn't a break from learning.

It's how many children learn best.

Does your child trip over nothing, seem clumsy, or struggle to catch a ball? ๐ŸŒŸ

You're not alone โ€” and here's something important to know: this isn't just a coordination issue. For many children, these challenges are connected to retained primitive reflexes. These are automatic movement patterns that should integrate in early childhood, but sometimes need a little extra support to do so.

At Neurodiverse Playhouse, our therapists use primitive reflex integration to help children's nervous systems build the foundations they need for confident movement, focus, and learning. It's not about "fixing" your child โ€” it's about honouring where their body is at and supporting it to grow.

The best part? You don't need a formal diagnosis to get started. We welcome all families, wherever you are on your journey.

โœจ Sessions available in Brisbane (Banyo and Spring Hill), Melbourne (Yarraville), and Gold Coast (Burleigh Heads).

Curious whether primitive reflex integration might help your child? Send us a message or email to book a chat with our team โ€” we'd love to hear from you. ๐Ÿ’›

The 5 Things I Wish Every Parent of a Neurodivergent Child Knew
As parents, it's easy to feel like you should always be doing more.
But after more than 20 years working with neurodivergent children and their families, I've learnt that thriving doesn't start with more therapyโ€”it starts with strong foundations.
In this video, I share the five things I believe every parent should understand:
๐Ÿ’™ Sleep
๐Ÿ’™ Nutrition
๐Ÿ’™ Movement
๐Ÿ’™ Connection
๐Ÿ’™ Understanding your child's unique profile
These aren't quick fixes. They're the foundations that help children feel safe, regulated, confident and ready to learn.
I'd love to knowโ€”which of these has made the biggest difference for your child?

Have you ever heard of primitive reflex integration? It might be the missing piece for your child. ๐Ÿงฉ

Here in Brisbane, we get a lot of referrals from parents who've tried therapy before and felt like something wasn't quite clicking. Their child was making some progress โ€” but still struggling with things like:

โ€ข Clumsiness, tripping, or bumping into things
โ€ข Poor handwriting or fine motor struggles
โ€ข Difficulty focusing, especially at school
โ€ข Emotional outbursts that seem "bigger" than the situation
โ€ข Trouble with coordination, balance, or rhythm

What many of these families have in common is that the root cause hasn't yet been addressed โ€” and often, primitive reflexes are part of the picture.

Primitive reflexes are automatic movements that develop in infancy and are meant to integrate as the nervous system matures. When they don't fully integrate, they can affect everything from attention and balance to emotional regulation and learning.

At Neurodiverse Playhouse, primitive reflex integration is woven throughout our programs โ€” not as a standalone "technique," but as part of a whole-child, play-based approach. Every member of our team completes training in this methodology alongside their standard qualifications.

If you're in Brisbane (Banyo or Spring Hill) and want to understand more about how this could support your child, we'd love to chat.

School holidays and therapy โ€” the perfect combination. ๐ŸŒŸ

With Queensland and Victoria school holidays well and truly underway, families finally have the flexibility to book those morning sessions that are so hard to fit in during term time.

Here's something families often don't realise: our morning slots currently have availability. That means you don't have to wait months to get started.

Whether your child has been on a waitlist elsewhere, or you've been wondering if now is the right time to explore support โ€” school holidays can be a genuinely lovely introduction to therapy.

Why? Because:
โœจ There's no school fatigue. Kids arrive fresh and curious.
โœจ No uniform, no rush. Sessions feel relaxed from the start.
โœจ More flexibility means more consistency in those early weeks.

Our teams in Brisbane (Banyo and Spring Hill), Melbourne (Yarraville), and the Gold Coast (Burleigh Heads) are welcoming new families right now.

No diagnosis required. NDIS, private health, and self-pay all welcome.

Message us or email [email protected] to find out more โ€” morning sessions are available now! ๐Ÿ’›
