A frame that holds a swinging child needs to be more than ‘sturdy-looking.’

Every custom SensoryU frame goes through formal engineering certification once the design is finalised — checked against relevant safety and load-bearing standards, essential for both insurance purposes and professional use. Our suspended equipment is also independently tested by a NATA-accredited laboratory, and every frame is reviewed by structural engineers before it reaches your space.

It’s an extra step most people never see. But when it’s supporting a child mid-swing, it’s the step that matters most.

Safety isn’t an add-on at SensoryU — it’s built into the process from day one.

Every child deserves environments that help them feel safe, regulated and ready to learn. 🧡

That’s the belief behind everything we design.

Sensory tools aren’t extras — they’re often the difference between a child who’s fighting to hold it together and a child who has what they need to actually engage, connect and learn.

Swings that offer just the right vestibular input. Tools that provide the deep pressure a nervous system is asking for. Equipment built to help a classroom, clinic or home become a space where regulation comes first.

Because when a child feels safe in their body, everything else - learning, play, connection - becomes possible.

That’s what we’re here to build, one sensory tool at a time.

Every therapy space tells a story. 💙

It’s always rewarding to see a sensory space come to life. We recently partnered with The OT Guru to install a customised SensoryU suspension system, creating a versatile therapy environment that supports meaningful, engaging interventions.

Thank you to Carla and the team for trusting SensoryU. We’re excited to see the positive impact this space has for your clients.

No two sensory gyms are the same — and neither are our frames.

Building a custom suspension frame starts long before any metal is cut.

Every project begins with understanding your space, your therapeutic goals and the equipment you need to support them. From there, we work closely with experienced draughtsmen and structural engineers to turn those requirements into a detailed design — with precise measurements, structural considerations and safety requirements mapped out before fabrication begins.

Some spaces need a compact, low-profile frame. Others require something larger to accommodate multiple swings and attachments.

That’s the point of going custom — the frame is built around your room, not the other way around.

Did you know movement isn’t a distraction from learning — it’s part of it?

Research shows movement breaks improve focus, on-task behaviour, and academic outcomes. When kids move, blood flow and alertness increase, priming the brain to take in new information. For a lot of children, sitting still actually makes focusing harder.

This comes down to sensory input: Vestibular (movement & balance) — swinging, spinning, rocking, hanging upside down. Proprioceptive (muscles & joints) — pushing, pulling, climbing, deep pressure

Both help kids feel calm, organised, and ready to learn. It’s regulation, not disruption.

Easy movement breaks to try:
1️⃣ 2 minutes of swinging or rocking
2️⃣ Animal walks between activities
3️⃣ Wall pushes or chair push-ups
4️⃣ Hanging, climbing, or crawling play

Little and often beats one big burst.

The Duo who started it all.

Meet Kate and Mark — the husband-and-wife team behind SensoryU.

Kate is an Occupational Therapist trained in Ayres Sensory Integration®, with over a decade of hands-on clinical experience. Every SensoryU product starts life in her own clinic, tested with real kids working toward real goals.

Mark brings the craftsmanship — rigging, design and supplier relationships that turn Kate’s clinical know-how into equipment that’s safe, strong and built to last.

Add three energetic kids (their toughest product testers yet) and a workshop in Brisbane, and you’ve got the SensoryU story: built with purpose, made with love.

We’re so glad you’re here. Follow along as we share more of what goes into every swing, frame and tool we make.

Designed by popular demand!

After countless requests from our followers, we’re excited to introduce our new tyre swing!

Tyre swings are fantastic for developing balance, core strength, coordination, motor planning, and body awareness — all while having fun at home, kindy and in the clinic!

Thank you for sharing your ideas and helping us create equipment that supports meaningful play and development.
