Things that made me go “f**k yeah” ✨

Because if you’re not frothing your own life, what’s the point? Sharing joy is a beautiful thing, so let’s do it.

I’ll start with last weekend’s overnight down the coast. I don’t get solo nights away very often and it was overdue, deserved, and absolutely revelled in.

What I’ve been listening to this week. Always a mixed bag but enjoying some nostalgic Pop Punk alongside my morning chill and focus tunes.

Plus new Fred again. is always a vibe.

Public health memes are so good 🖤

So grateful for the opportunity to talk about nutrition in a foundational wellness framework at dōTERRA AUS Wellness Your Way event. One of my favourite professional moments so far.

Thank you Paul Avellino l The Garden Guinea for this gem. I knew there was a reason I named my son Bran.

The opportunity to speak on Nourishing Your Metabolism sparked a clarity and focus within me about the way I work with clients in lifestyle support and inner work. A client joked to me that they couldn’t do life without me and we laughed about my work being “life support”.

For my clients who are high achievers, in the burnout cycle, trying to do something differently… going back to the basics is so important and often overlooked. This iteration of my business feels so powerful.

Credit to Freek van Litsenburg - Get to know yourself🧠 because this describes me and most of my clients perfectly 😆

That mental load though…

My favourite thing I cooked this week was Penang Curry with fresh curry paste, chicken thighs, and s**tloads of vegetables. Flavourmaxxing. Ticks all the boxes.

It feels like Spring in Queensland already, so leaning heavily into that vibe with the sunshine and this delicious blend that includes sweet notes of magnolia, orange, grapefruit, lavender, and chamomile. Obsessed.

A huge win this week in my advocacy for my son means that we are back to regular scheduling later this month. He’s enamoured with one of my besties who is up visiting and taken over the bedtime story book pile 🙏

Something that has been in my mind lately and pulling this card really was timely… I’m making such an intentional practice of loving the s**t out of my days, not wishing them away.

How do you do gratitude? ✨

Every night I write a gratitude list and share it with the group chat as part of our evening practice.

I’ve used gratitude as part of my practice for a long time. I once ran a workshop where we spoke about the difference between gratitude lists and the type of gratitude that really moves you.

Here’s the thing… a gratitude list of all the small things is an amazing way to start reprogramming your mind to look for the positives and abundance and things to be grateful for. That’s real.

When you start to rattle off a generic list like my health, my family, my job, my house etc every day without tapping into the real feeling of gratitude, you’re doing the practice a disservice.

I believe that real gratitude, when you sit with it, should move you to tears. Because the reason behind it is significant and specific. That’s when it really works.

The small things can still do that. Sometimes the small things ARE the big things.

What are you grateful for today? 🖤

As a former workaholic stuck in the burnout cycle who now lives a (mostly) calm and grounded existence…

… the best thing I can do to maintain some form of balance and sanity is prioritise the way I want to feel as well as what I want to achieve.

We are human beings, not human doings.

If you’ve ever ticked everything on your to do list off and then felt deflated or it hasn’t scratched the itch, I totally get it.

If you have a spicy brain we’re not wired to gain the dopamine from goals in the same way, so we need to approach it a slightly different way.

If you don’t even know where to start with this, DM me for a simple practice to try straight away.

Does this look boring to you? 😉

We recently decided to make a few changes to this experiment; increasing the food budget to $175/wk as it’s getting too hard to eat at a decent quality with how everything has increased.

The other one was to sink our weekly treat meal cost into ingredients to make a meal together as a family, including my brother and brother-in-law at times. Setting ourselves up with a few extra staples to be able to make a Thai curry paste from scratch was worth the investment.

I’ve really been trying to include more beans and be mindful of fibre as much as protein, but my priority is always going to be matching nutrition with flavour.

My favourite suppliers have been tagged so please check them out, I don’t get kick backs I just really believe in supporting our farmers above our big chains, and small businesses operating with heart.

Let me know what recipes you must have, as I’m putting together a guide for those who come to my talk at Wellness Your Way, and I might just keep a couple up my sleeve.

As a nutritionist I could go deep on this but I’ll keep it simple: if you’re doing all the mindset work and still feel wired, flat, and exhausted, look at what you’re eating.

Or more specifically, what you’re not eating.
Start with protein at breakfast and see what changes.

I literally did this exercise with a coaching client recently. Her mental and emotional capacity were lower, the stories in the mind were kicking off, and her energy was faltering.
A light breakfast was the culprit.

I’ve noticed similar patterns in myself and my toddler, when our breakfasts aren’t as robust, our spicy brains struggle to kick into the highest gear.

You need proper fuel to be your baddest self.
Running on empty serves no one, least of all you.
We don’t accept running on toast+anxiety around here.

Drop your current breakfast and let me hack it for you 👇
