A great opportunity to be a part of building a strong community in Bunbury 💟💟💟
🤝 Have your say on Bunbury's Reconciliation Action Plan 🤝
Reconciliation isn't just a word. It's a journey we take together, and we want you to help lead the way.
A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a strategic framework, developed through Reconciliation Australia, that helps organisations strengthen relationships, respect and opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The City's RAP will guide how we acknowledge Aboriginal culture and heritage, build meaningful community partnerships, and embed reconciliation into our policies, programs and everyday operations.
The City of Bunbury is developing a new RAP in partnership with Marrak Holdings, a 100% Indigenous family owned and operated business based in Bunbury, offering genuine Aboriginal engagement and consultancy guided by local Elders and community members.
We're inviting Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community members, organisations and partners to nominate for our RAP Working Group. This group will help guide and inform the co-design of our RAP, bringing together community representatives and local leaders to make sure it reflects community priorities and cultural integrity.
What you'll do:
✅ Represent your community's perspective
✅ Share ideas, insights and feedback
✅ Support meaningful engagement activities
✅ Help shape the City's reconciliation journey
✅ Contribute to initiatives that create lasting impact
Whether you've been involved in this space before or simply have a genuine commitment to reconciliation, we'd love to hear from you. It's a voluntary position, and a genuine opportunity to make a difference.
📅 Nominations are now open and close Friday, 4 September 2026.
