Today is Marjorie Lucia Young's birthday. Her birthday is 26 January 1897.
I have been slowly piecing together her story through old letters, photos, and the tiny human details that somehow survive time. It's a strange, beautiful thing, getting to know someone you have never met, then realising you are genuinely invested in their life, their voice, and the world they lived in.
And yes, there is very much a spiritual layer to it for me too.
Not in a dramatic way, more like a steady thread you keep finding in the same place, again and again. Some people leave an imprint, and every so often, when I'm reading her words or looking at a photo like this, it feels less like "research" and more like a quiet nudge to pay attention.
Happy birthday, Marjorie. Thank you for leaving enough behind for me to find you.
