Cruise’s journey 🐾❤️
Cruise is an 11-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback who was referred to us around 4–5 weeks ago.
Back in November 2025, while out trail riding with his owner and her horse, Cruise—who would normally run alongside without any trouble—started falling well behind. His owner noticed his hind legs tiring quickly, and after only around 100 metres, he simply couldn’t continue.
After exploring other avenues and receiving a clear bill of health, his owner wanted to investigate further, which is when she booked an assessment.
During Cruise’s assessment, we found significant instability around both knees, noticeable muscle atrophy through his pelvis and hind limbs, along with multiple areas of reduced joint motion through his pelvis, lumbar spine and other regions of his spine.
Our focus has been on restoring normal joint motion where appropriate, reducing compensatory restrictions, and providing his owner with simple home-care strategies to support him between visits.
The footage you’re seeing is after Cruise’s fourth visit. He’s demonstrating noticeably improved stability through his pelvis and hind limbs, and it’s encouraging to see muscle beginning to return, helping to better support his joints. As his body moves more efficiently, he’s becoming more comfortable and able to enjoy life again.
Every animal is different, and outcomes vary, but seeing dogs become more confident and comfortable in their movement is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
If you’ve noticed your dog slowing down, struggling to keep up, finding it harder to jump, or simply moving differently than they used to, it may be worth having them assessed.
