How does Shamanic Herbalism differ from normal herbalism?

This is a topic that comes up so often, and is fresh in my mind as we were discussing aspects of it last night in the yearlong Plant Ally circle.

Solstice! The day when the Southern Hemisphere receives the light beacon back from the north. The South’s rebirth into the light and the North’s peak and turning towards the descent into darkness.

Despite the seemingly endless days of cloud and rain dandelion is blooming in profusion, and calendula and sunflower are too (even though they’re said to only bloom with the sun!). Couldn’t resist making a little dandelion and calendula petal infused organic apple cider vinegar ready for spring salads. Mmmm
They make a good blend as flower medicine too - for openings, dandelion works on clearing the space between us and the earth, and calendula does the same in the upper realms - to the sky. Not to mention being great digestive herbs. Read about their medicine and teachings beyond (tho including) the physical in my second Plant Spirit Teachings if Six Healing Herbs book. Link in bio 🌼🌼🌼
