Kotahi Yoga Welcome to Kotahi Yoga - an inclusive space inviting you to come and find your place in our community I am very much both a student and a teacher.

Kia Ora, my name is Kym - I am a Kiwi living in Queensland sharing Yoga. As a teacher I will guide you through meditation, movement and relaxation in each class you spend with me. I will sprinkle in a little culture from home and invite you to reciprocate with a little of your culture. Yoga is not only for the bendy twisty ones among us, it is for every shape and size, every age and stage of life.

Feeling very grateful for doctors who spoke in plain English and answered our many questions as best they could without a crystal ball & nurses that recognised anxiety and provided much needed support 💕

Thanks for your understanding with cancelled classes & for holding us in your thoughts 🙏🏽 ❤️

Hi yogi friends…proof of life & holiday update! LA was a whirlwind of hotspots - Santa Monica, Hollywood Boulevard…two full days at Disneyland (so much more)…now in Mexico I’m finding places to float my weary bod! Oh & eating all the yummy food and walking many steps. Hope school holidays are fun for the parents/grandparents of school age kiddos & friends that work in schools!

✨ Tuesday will be our final Kotahi class for the term ✨

A bit of a special class…a slow, nourishing practice with a blend of Hatha, yin, & restorative yoga - finishing with sound bowls. A chance to soften, settle and let the body fully exhale before a short pause.

There will be no class Thursday, and then I’ll be taking a 2-week break before we begin again.

Somehow I’m officially packed and ready to go ✈️ (unheard of 😆)

I’ll try to share a few moments from LA and Mexico along the way 🌵🌊

Hope to see you Tuesday to close the term together 🤍

Last week we had two unexpected visitors very happily attending our classes - for the evening classes snuggling down to sleep through Savasana!

They are so unafraid of humans (and Russell the dog) that I went down a rabbit hole researching them, trying to work out whether they’re actually lost pets 🤷‍♀️. I can’t say I worked anything out but fun fact when they migrate, they fly in a V, sharing the effort of leading so the whole flock can travel further. It made me think about the meaning of Kotahi — one, together, unity; so maybe they’re our new mascots!

Today they’ve behaved a bit more like geese & hung out around the dam (with there alpaca friends 😆) & I can’t guarantee they’ll be attending class again!

Looking forward to seeing you on the mat this week Tuesday/Thursday - 9am/6pm 🧘‍♀️🪿

Rainy days have a way of slowing everything down. 🌧️

Today, as the rain settled in, a pair of geese wandered down my driveway & hung out with us for the day! They’re very friendly & a bit bossy!

This week in yoga we’ll explore the pause — the moment between inhale and exhale, effort and release, movement and stillness. That small space where the nervous system softens and the mind catches up with the body.

Sometimes the most powerful part of a practice isn’t the pose, but the moment we stop pushing and simply notice.
