From wonderful performances to shared smiles and moments of connection, the students brought so much energy and joy to our residents. 🎶😊

Yesterday, the Lansdowne and Hixson Gardens teams had the honour of being invited to Parliament House in Canberra for lunch with Dai Le MP. 🇦🇺

Our nursing and catering teams are truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity to connect, share our experiences and represent Hixson Gardens Aged Care and Lansdowne Aged Care.

It was especially meaningful to connect with Dai Le and share insights from our aged care community. We appreciate her commitment to supporting our local community and giving a voice to the people and organisations that make it stronger. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Dai Le and her Senior Assistant, Thanh, for organising this special experience and welcoming both of our teams to Parliament House.

Our Canberra visit also included the Royal Australian Mint and some of the city’s iconic places.

It was a wonderful opportunity to step away from our everyday routines, experience something special together and create memories that both our Lansdowne and Hixson Gardens teams will cherish. ❤️✨

There was no shortage of laughter at Lansdowne Aged Care! 🎨😂

Our residents put their drawing skills to the test while our Wellbeing Team tried to work out what they were creating. Some answers were brilliant… and some were definitely creative! 😆

It’s amazing how a simple game can bring laughter, confidence, creativity, communication and connection to the room. ❤️

A simple game with so many benefits, helping with coordination, concentration, fine motor skills and cognitive stimulation, while bringing everyone together for laughter, connection and a little friendly competition. 😊

Amy from our Wellbeing team brings the fun directly to our residents, with games, grooming, conversation and little moments of companionship.

One-on-one engagement can support emotional wellbeing, reduce feelings of loneliness, encourage mental stimulation and help residents maintain a sense of independence and purpose.

It may look like a simple trolley making its way down the hallway…

But to a resident, it can mean someone remembered them, thought of them and took the time to visit. 💗

Our Young Hearts & Wise Minds program brought together the wonderful students of Cabramatta Public School and our residents at Lansdowne Aged Care for another meaningful day of creativity and connection 💕

Through art and craft, generations shared stories, laughter, and kindness while creating something beautiful together.

For our residents, these moments encourage creativity, improve fine motor skills, boost confidence, and help reduce feelings of loneliness. For the students, it’s an opportunity to build empathy, develop communication skills, learn from life experiences, and create lasting friendships with older generations.

Because the best masterpieces aren’t just made with paint, they’re made with hearts connected across generations. ❤️
