The Quiet Strength of Choosing Peace
~ AMP Jefferies
I have not lost patience through arrogance, but gained clarity through awareness. This is not impatience born of ego, but clarity born of growth.
I have reached a place in life where my time and energy feel precious, and I choose not to spend them on what diminishes my Spirit, my Light or causes me harm. I no longer make room for cynicism, ill intended criticism, or unreasonable demands. It’s not out of bitterness—but out of self-respect and Love thy self.
I have released the need to please those who do not see me, that do not hear me, to love those who cannot return it, or to offer smiles where none are welcomed.
My heart still remains open to those that I choose: I will continue give freely, love deeply, and I refrain from judging the paths of others.
I no longer linger where there is deception or manipulation. I choose not to coexist with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonesty, or hollow praise. I step away from intellectual arrogance, selective wisdom, and the noise of gossip. Conflict and comparison no longer entice me; I have learned they quietly steal joy.
I accept that the world is made of contrasts, and with that understanding, I gently distance myself from rigidity of mind and inconsistency of character.
In friendship, I value loyalty and sincerity. I struggle to remain close to those who withhold kindness, encouragement, or appreciation.
Excess and exaggeration weary me. I am drawn to gentleness—toward people, toward animals, toward life itself.
Above all, I have learned this: patience is a gift, and I now offer it consciously, carefully, and only where it is deserved.
