Scott Liddell - Funeral Celebrant Providing a service full of care, compassion and empathy

I have lived in the Campbelltown/Macarthur area for nearly 40 years, with training, qualifications and experience as a pastoral care worker and volunteer mentor with Mentoring Men, as well as funeral celebrancy. As a funeral celebrant, I work with helping people in their time of need, offering them a service where my SOLE focus is on them (my family/client), working with and for them throughout th

e entire process to hopefully make a difficult time easier to navigate, and delivering a service that truly honours and pays tribute to their loved one with care, compassion and empathy. I work mainly in the Campbelltown/Macarthur region, but will also work within the wider Sydney metropolitan area.

I was honoured to conduct a memorial service yesterday afternoon for a guy who was a typical, salt of the earth, old school Aussie bloke. He was no fuss, loved his family, the Aussie bush, working on cars, fishing, and always helped his mates out when they needed it.
When the NOK first contacted me and said that the service would be held in a back yard, I asked if there would be something that I could put my notes on, and he said they'd arrange something. When I arrived, he showed me what they'd done. One of his mates had "knocked up" a lectern out of old fence palings and scrap timber. Even if I'd given them dimensions they couldn't have done any better, because it was the perfect height and width (better than some chapels), plenty of room for my notes, and even room for my water bottle. It was the "cherry on the cake" for the setting and if fitted perfectly with the whole setting for the service.

Initial feedback (edited) via text message from the next of kin following the service that I did on Wednesday morning.

"Scott, after you left I spoke to the whole family. They couldn't say anything bad about yourself mate. You should be proud of yourself, we all loved it, and they all said that you rocked it."

That's exactly why I do, and love, this job. Not to get a pat on the back, but to have given the family what they wanted.

Respect is ALWAYS a priority, but a funeral service isn't just about mourning, it's also about celebrating the life of the departed.
I was honoured and blessed to do a service yesterday, where at a given time (pre-arranged with and approved by the next of kin), the family and guests were given the opportunity to CELEBRATE their loved one.
Everyone got involved, and it was so joyous watching them sing, laugh and clap their hands for about 4 minutes.
Anyone watching from outside would have thought "what the hell is going on in there?", but when just about every one of those in attendance, including location staff (except one) either shook my hand, said thank you, gave me a hug or said it was great, I knew that we'd done the right thing.
I won't happen every time, but yesterday was definitely one of those times when it was perfect for the occasion.

FAMILY FIRST - NOT FINANCES

As a funeral celebrant, I work with people helping them in their time of need. I only ever work on one service at a time, so I am able to offer a service where my SOLE focus is on my family/client, working with and FOR them throughout the entire process to make a difficult time easier to navigate, and delivering a service that truly honours and pays tribute to their loved one with care, compassion and empathy.

I have lived in the Macarthur region for 40 years, with training, qualifications and experience as a pastoral care worker and volunteer mentor with Mentoring Men, as well as my work as a funeral celebrant.

I work mainly in the Macarthur region, but will also work within the wider Sydney metropolitan area.

In keeping with my page slogan of "Family First - Not Finances", because of personal experiences in my past, I offer a discount for su***de, and I also offer a discount for babies. Please feel free to contact me directly by phone or email for further details.
