I’m very much looking forward to sharing some Alexander Technique concepts with local Arts Teachers at the wonderful Arts Up Front conference on Sat 15th March.
🌟 Introducing wellbeing presenter - Steve Allen!
☀️ Steve first encountered the Alexander Technique (AT) during his music studies at ANU. It became clear to him that this technique had much to offer in achieving improved ease and fluency on his instrument, the Classical Guitar, whilst also reducing the risk of injury and providing access to pain-free playing. As Steve further explored the AT, he realised it had a significant application beyond music, with positive impacts on his ability to manage stress, daily activities and general well-being.
🪫 As a classroom music teacher, Steve found the AT helpful in managing fatigue and burnout during the hectic pace of a school day. The AT provided him with a tool to better care for himself whilst in the act of teaching, promoting a less strained, more present, efficient and sustainable way to exist.
🌳 Having completed 3 years of AT Teacher training, Steve is now helping others discover the benefits of this simple, yet effective tool, with people remarking “I wish I had known about this earlier”. Steve is registered with AUSTAT (Australian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique) and can be contacted through his studio Balancing ACT Alexander Technique.
🎉Be sure to register for Steve's workshop: The Alexander Technique - Teacher self-care- looking after yourself whilst in the act of teaching!
Session 3: 2.05 - 3.40pm
