We’re delighted to welcome Dr Jenna Besley to the Charlestown Private Hospital team, part of the national Nexus Hospitals network.

Dr Besley is a comprehensive ophthalmologist providing medical and surgical care across a broad range of eye conditions, with particular interests in cataract, pterygium and oculoplastic surgery.

With extensive training in Australia and internationally, including fellowship experience with the Fred Hollows Foundation in Nepal and Indigenous communities around Alice Springs, as well as further oculoplastic training in Nottingham, UK, Dr Besley brings a wealth of expertise and experience to her patients.

Known for her warm and approachable manner, Dr Besley places a strong focus on clear communication, patient-centred care and collaboration with referring optometrists and GPs. She is also passionate about improving access to quality eye care in rural, remote and underserved communities.

👁️ World Ophthalmologist Day | 8 August

Today we celebrate the ophthalmologists and eye care teams whose expertise helps protect and restore one of our most precious senses – sight.
