When did childhood become something we needed to apologise for?
Watching your child jump in puddles, laugh loudly, climb, explore and get messy isn’t “bad behaviour”—it’s childhood.
As a key worker, I often meet parents who worry about what others think when their child is louder, busier or experiences the world differently. Especially when they’re neurodivergent.
But play isn’t just fun—it’s how children build confidence, emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving and resilience.
So here’s your reminder:
Let them splash.
Let them explore.
Let them be wonderfully themselves.
And if you’re feeling judged, know this… you’re not alone. We’re here to help parents understand their child’s unique strengths and support them through play, not perfection.
