~World Nursery Rhyme Week 2025~

10th November to 14th November

Nursery Rhyme Week is a celebration of the traditional songs and rhymes that form such an important part of early childhood learning. For children under five, nursery rhymes are far more than just fun songs — they are powerful tools that build the foundations for language, literacy, and brain development. Through rhyme, rhythm, and repetition, children learn how words sound, how sentences flow, and how stories are structured.

Singing rhymes also strengthens memory, concentration, and listening skills while developing speech and vocabulary in a playful, engaging way. The actions and movements that often accompany rhymes support coordination, motor planning, and social connection, helping children to express themselves and build confidence in group settings.

Most importantly, nursery rhymes create joyful shared moments between children, educators, and families — nurturing strong relationships and a love of language that lasts a lifetime. Nursery Rhyme Week reminds us that these simple, timeless songs are the stepping stones to reading, communication, and imagination for every young child.
