Treatment can affect essential everyday functions, including eating, drinking, swallowing, speaking and breathing, as well as appearance and mental wellbeing.

With more than 5,000 Australians diagnosed each year and over 17,000 people living with the ongoing effects of treatment, raising awareness is more important than ever.

💙 Reflecting on Lipoedema Awareness Month 💙

Although we may have been a little quiet on social media during Lipoedema Awareness Month last month, we were busy behind the scenes spreading awareness throughout our local community.

In May, we were proud to host our Lipoedema Awareness Event, bringing together members of our community to learn more about lipoedema, its signs and symptoms, management options and the support available.

Throughout Lipoedema Awareness Month, our team continued educating clients, connecting with local health professionals and helping to increase awareness and understanding of this often misunderstood condition.

We also hosted an educational webinar for GPs and allied health professionals, focusing on how to identify lipoedema, when to refer and the role of conservative management and ongoing support.

While Lipoedema Awareness Month may be over, our commitment to education, advocacy and supporting people living with lipoedema continues all year round. 💙

Every conversation helps increase awareness, improve understanding and support greater access to appropriate care.

What an incredible opportunity for our Director, Clinical Myotherapist and Accredited lymphoedema therapist Kaleisha to speak in front of fellow myotherapists on Sunday, sharing her passion and knowledge around lymphoedema, lipoedema, and women’s health. 🌿
From raising awareness and advocating for better understanding, to discussing assessment, management approaches, and the importance of multidisciplinary care — it was a wonderful opportunity to educate and inspire others within the profession.
We’re so proud to see Kaleisha continuing to advocate for people living with lymphatic and women’s health conditions, while also encouraging other myotherapists to explore and upskill in these growing areas of healthcare. 💙
A big thank you to Myotherapy Association Australia, Torrens University Australia, and Think Education for the opportunity, support, and for helping create such a welcoming space for education, collaboration, and professional growth.
Thank you as well to everyone who attended, asked questions, and contributed to such an engaging and supportive afternoon of learning and connection.
