🐾 Meet Archie! 🩵

We’d like to introduce the newest member of the Pathhaven Disability Care family… Archie!

Archie is an 8-week-old Maltipoo who has just begun an exciting journey to become our future Pathhaven Therapy Dog.

Over the next 12-18 months, Archie will be learning how to be calm, gentle and confident while completing obedience training, socialisation and working towards therapy dog accreditation.

Our hope is that one day Archie will bring comfort, companionship and plenty of smiles to our participants, families and staff.

For now, he’s enjoying being a puppy, learning the basics and making lots of new friends along the way. 🐶💙

We can’t wait to share his journey with you all as he grows into an important part of the Pathhaven family.

Friendly reminder

Today at 2:00 pm AEST, mobile phones and compatible smart devices across Australia will blare a 10-second emergency siren and vibrate as part of the first nationwide test of the new AusAlert national warning system.

The alert will bypass all silent, "do not disturb", or vibrate modes and display a full-screen message reading: "This is a TEST alert of AusAlert, Australia's new emergency warning system.

NO ACTION IS REQUIRED.

"Because the alarm is designed to sound even on hidden or silent devices, experts and safety advocates strongly advise turning off your phone or putting it into aeroplane mode if the sudden noise could compromise your privacy or safety.

Snipping Through the Community!

Sometimes all it takes is a fresh haircut to put a smile on your face!

This morning, Sarah’s mum let our team know that Sarah had spotted a celebrity with a pixie haircut and couldn’t stop thinking about it. So, support worker Johley helped turn that inspiration into reality with a trip to the hairdresser - and Sarah absolutely rocked her brand-new look!

With the makeover complete, the adventure continued to the local library where Sarah spent time finishing off her comics before enjoying a peaceful moment sitting by the beautiful water fountain.

It’s these everyday moments - listening, supporting personal choices, building confidence, and enjoying the community - that make such a meaningful difference.

Kicking Goals Through Community Access!

There’s something special about returning to the footy on Old Boys’ Day!

This past weekend, Johnny was supported by our wonderful Support Worker, Kylie, to spend the day at the football, taking in the atmosphere, catching up with familiar faces, and enjoying everything that makes local community sport so special.

From the excitement of the crowd to the conversations with old mates, it was a day full of connection, smiles, and shared memories. These are the moments that make community access so meaningful – supporting people to stay connected to the places, events and people that have shaped their lives.

At Pathhaven, we know that support isn’t just about getting from A to B. It’s about creating opportunities to reconnect with passions, maintain relationships, and enjoy the simple things that bring happiness.

A fantastic day out, a great game of footy, and plenty of reasons to smile. Thanks, Kylie, for helping make it such a memorable experience!

Planting the Seeds for Meaningful Community Access!

A trip to Bunnings was on the agenda for Ross and support worker Reggie today.

After browsing the garden section and picking out some beautiful new plants to brighten up the SIL home, there was only one thing left to do… stop for a well-earned coffee and a couple of classic meat pies (with tomato sauce, of course! 😉).

Making the day even better was Ross’ faithful companion, Olivia, who came along for the adventure and enjoyed being part of the outing too. 🐾

Community access with Pathhaven is about so much more than getting out of the house; it’s about choice, independence, meaningful experiences, and creating moments that bring joy. Whether it’s choosing plants, sharing a laugh over lunch, or spending time with a beloved four-legged friend, these are the moments that help make every day meaningful.
