Last Week In Our GP Skin Clinic 🩺
A busy and varied week looking after skin, at all ages and stages. Thank you to everyone who came in and for accomodating some changes in your schedule.
Here are some of the concerns we discussed last week:
- Periorificial dermatitis around the eyelids
A reaction to skincare products. This delicate area can be very sensitive — often less is more, and barrier repair is key.
-Review after facial skin tag removal
2-week follow-up — area healing well.
We always review healing and aftercare.
Skin tags removal — face & neck
Discussed and performed using radiofrequency technique where suitable. Not all tags or locations are suitable, assessment is needed first.
-Acne consultations
Ongoing management for persistent breakouts, focusing on triggers, skincare, and evidence-based treatment options.
-Excessive underarm sweating (axillary hyperhidrosis)
A consultation to discuss what causes it and what supportive options are available. It’s much more common than people think.
-Jaw clenching & teeth grinding
Discussed how jaw tension relates to headaches, jaw pain and facial muscle overactivity, and what medical options may be explored with your GP / dentist.
-Skin health in post-menopause
Changes in dryness, sensitivity and collagen after menopause are very common. We focused on gentle, barrier-supportive care and prevention.
-Persistent rash around the mouth in a young girl. Long-standing redness and bumps around the mouth area — a common presentation in children where gentle skin care and trigger avoidance are important. GP assessment is key to rule out overlapping causes.
-Itchy rash on legs and body
A widespread itchy rash — we discussed how many different causes can look similar and why an in-person skin assessment is important to guide next steps.
If you identify with any of these, you are welcome to book a dedicated appointment to discuss your own concerns and suitability.
