Exciting growth is coming to Priority Health Group!

As a proud family run business, our greatest strength has always been our people. More doctors, nurses and administration professionals will be joining us soon, allowing us to offer more appointments, expand our bulk billing options and work towards reopening Emerald Surgery.

We are also introducing AI powered reception for 24 hour booking convenience. Technology will support, not replace, our people. Our five reception team members will remain available by phone during clinic hours.

PHG remains a premier training facility for the next generation of GPs. Dr Varsani and Dr Long will continue to train and supervise new doctors, while Dr Cheu and Dr Spencer are on track to complete their Fellowship over the coming year. New registrars will also be joining us.

Our next phase will be led by Dr Varsani alongside Gardner, CEO of Kuremara, Saru Chifadza RN, Director of Nursing, and Daman Takkar, Operations Director.

After more than 11 years of serving our community, we are growing to give our patients more choice, better access and more affordable healthcare. 💙

After five wonderful years with Priority Health Group, we are saying a very fond farewell to our valued Registered Nurse, Arman, as he begins a new chapter in Bundaberg.

Over the past five years, Arman has been a consistent and dependable presence within our practice. His loyalty, stability and commitment to our patients, team and the Emerald community have been deeply valued. He has cared for countless patients with kindness, compassion and professionalism, always bringing his calm and friendly nature to the workplace.

Dr Varsani and the entire Priority Health Group team sincerely thank Arman for his dedication and contribution to the practice. While we are sad to see him leave, we are excited for his future and wish him every happiness and success in Bundaberg.

From Blackall to Blackwater, we’re here when you need us. ❤️

Today was one of those days that reminded us why we do what we do.

With new doctors joining the Priority Health Group team, we opened up 40 additional same day appointments. By the end of the day, every single one had been filled.

That tells us one thing. Our community values being able to see a doctor when they’re sick, not days or weeks later.

We’re also excited to welcome Dr Niharika Panchani, who will be joining the Priority Health Group team in September. Dr Panchani is a dual UK and Australian qualified General Practitioner with a special interest in women’s health and paediatrics. Her arrival will further increase our capacity to care for our growing community.

Our expanded team also means we’ll be able to offer more bulk billed appointments for children and aged pensioners, helping improve access to affordable healthcare across our region.

These tools accurately document your consultation as it takes place, allowing your clinician to remain fully present and focused on your care rather than on note taking.

After six years as our practice manager at Priority Health Group, Daman Takkar is moving on to become an Operations Director at Kuremara, our NDIS service, in Sydney.

Over the past six years, Daman has shaped this practice into what it is today, and his commitment to our team and patients has been second to none. The good news is that he isn't leaving us entirely, and will stay on to provide strategic input in his new role. We will miss having him here every day, but we're thrilled to see him take this next step and wish him all the best.

From the 29th of June, we're delighted to welcome Fuji as our new practice manager. Fuji joins us with a postgraduate degree in health management and hands on healthcare experience as a support worker, and we're confident the practice is in great hands.

Throughout this transition, the experienced management, medical, nursing and admin team that has always underpinned the quality of our patient care remains firmly in place.

Finally, thank you to our patients for your continued trust. It's a privilege to care for you, and we look forward to doing so for many years to come.

Celebrating Excellence and Honouring a Remarkable Career

Today marks a significant milestone for Priority Health Group as we successfully completed our accreditation assessment with 100% compliance and zero non-conformances.

This outstanding achievement reflects the dedication, professionalism and commitment of our entire team. Special recognition must go to our Managing Director, Saru Chifadza, and our Nurse Manager, Sue Pippin, whose leadership, preparation and attention to detail were instrumental in achieving this exceptional result.

While we celebrate this achievement, we also take a moment to recognise Sue as she prepares to retire next week. After an incredible 52 years of nursing, including 7 years of dedicated service with Priority Health Group, Sue leaves behind a legacy of compassion, clinical excellence, mentorship and unwavering commitment to patient care.

Sue has been a valued leader, colleague and friend, and her contribution to our patients, staff and organisation cannot be overstated. We are deeply grateful for everything she has done and the lasting impact she has made.

Accreditation Review Day at Priority Health Group

Today we welcome the audit team from the Quality Practice Accreditation (QPA) to Priority Health Group as part of our practice accreditation review.

Accreditation is an important process that occurs every three years and involves an independent assessment of our practice against national standards for quality and safety in general practice. The review examines our systems, policies, procedures and patient care processes to ensure we continue to deliver high-quality healthcare to our community.

Patients visiting the clinic today may notice members of the QPA audit team onsite. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as they observe aspects of our practice operations as part of the accreditation process.

This review reflects our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, patient safety and the delivery of high-quality care.

A special thank you to our doctors, nurses, receptionists and administrative staff for the significant work undertaken in preparing for today’s visit. Accreditation is a true team effort, and we are grateful for the professionalism, dedication and commitment shown by every member of our team.
