It’s all about the heart. πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ€

Our founder Candace Ohanessian shares why she chose to become an end-of-life doula. πŸ•ŠοΈ

Being a doula isn't about "fixing" things or rushing through the logistics.

It’s about holding space for life’s most tender moments: the love, the fear, the grief, and even the unfinished conversations.

It’s about witnessing and honoring each journey without judgment. ✨

At the end of life, what truly matters is how we are with each other.

It is our deepest honor to walk beside you and your family during this time. πŸ«‚

Often, the greatest gift we can leave our loved ones isn't an object, but clarity.

Starting these conversations can feel heavy, but they are some of the most meaningful talks you’ll ever have.

At Journease, we help turn those overwhelming "what ifs" into a calm, thoughtful plan made together. πŸ•ŠοΈβœ¨

πŸ’› When a loved one is dying or has just passed, one quiet question often surfaces: "Can we handle this on our own?"

The answer isn't as simple as yes or no. πŸ€”

This blog takes an honest, compassionate look at both sides.
It explores the real sense of meaning and control families gain by managing end-of-life care themselves, and the emotional exhaustion, legal confusion, and family tensions that can quietly build without the right support. βš–οΈ

Whether you're someone who wants full independence πŸ’ͺ or just needs a little guidance 🀝, this blog helps you ask the right questions.

Not just "Can we do this?" but also "What will it cost us if we try to do it all alone?" πŸ’

A grounded, thoughtful guide for anyone navigating one of life's most profound moments. πŸ•ŠοΈ

Read the full blog to explore the pros and cons and make a more informed decision for your family. πŸ“–

That drawer full of their things? It's okay if you're not ready yet. 🌿

After we lose someone, nobody prepares you for the moment you pick up their favourite mug and just... can't put it down. β˜•

Or find a handwritten note tucked inside a book. πŸ“–

Or hold a worn sweater that still carries their scent. 🧢

These aren't just objects. They are stories. They are memories. They hold traces of them. 🀍

And there is absolutely no timeline for deciding what to do with them.
Start with what feels manageable.

Leave a "Not Yet" pile for as long as you need.

Keep what brings comfort.

Pass on what carries love.

And never let anyone rush you through this. πŸ•ŠοΈ

Because letting go of belongings will never mean letting go of the memories. πŸ’›

πŸ’¬ Not sure if you need one doula session or ongoing support?

Here’s a simple way to think about it:
πŸ•ŠοΈ One session β†’ clarity, direction, and practical first steps when you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure what to do next.

🀝 Ongoing support β†’ steady guidance, emotional support, and someone beside you as the journey unfolds over time.

Both options offer meaningful support , it simply depends on what you need right now and where you are in the process.

✨ A single session can help you explore care options, understand what to expect, and feel more confident about the next steps.

πŸ’› Ongoing support can provide reassurance, presence, and compassionate guidance through changing moments and difficult conversations.

Start with a single session , no pressure, no commitment.

You’ll gain clarity, connection, and a better sense of what support might help most moving forward. πŸ’™

πŸ’™ Learn how the right support can make this journey easier .

When was the last time someone told you it's okay to slow down? 🌿

In the middle of loss, the world keeps moving.

Notifications. Paperwork. Expectations. Decisions.

But what if the most important thing you could do right now
is simply not rush? 🀍

Because the families we support don't need someone to speed things up.

They need someone to slow things down and walk beside them, calmly, at their pace. πŸ•ŠοΈ

That's the Journease difference. πŸ’›

πŸ’¬ Tag someone who has been a calm presence in your life during a hard time. Let them know they mattered. πŸ‘‡

πŸ’› When someone you love is nearing the end of life, you want everything to feel right.

The environment.
The people in the room.
The atmosphere.
The peace.

This blog gently guides you through the three main end-of-life settings :
Hospital, hospice, and home and what each one truly means for the person dying and the family surrounding them. 🀍

It's not about finding the "perfect" place. It's about finding the right place for your values, your needs, and the kind of farewell that feels meaningful. πŸ•ŠοΈ

The first hours can feel like the world has paused and that's okay.

Many families feel an invisible pressure to organise everything at once.

But those first 24 hours aren't about rushing funeral arrangements. 🌿

They're about care. Support. Taking one gentle step at a time when you're ready.

It may mean confirming the death, reaching out to those closest to you, or simply sitting with your grief before anything else. 🀍

You don't have to have all the answers right now.
