Top 5 things I see in clinic that drive exhaustion as a Clinical Naturopath
⤵️
1. Chronic stress – so many women I see are doing all the things: full-time work, caring for others, mums, managing a household… but not looking after themselves. Over time, this constant “doing” and no “Joy or down-time” can show up on labs as adrenal exhaustion and low cortisol. Your body is having a hard time keeping up with you and it’s gone into survival mode to protect you.
2.Hormone imbalances – specifically ->thyroid, adrenal, and reproductive hormone shifts can directly lower your energy.
3.Sleep disruption -poor sleep affects mood, focus, and cellular repair. Sleep isn’t a luxury; it’s a foundation for energy. We need to work on your sleep routine and deep hygiene.
4.Nutrient deficiencies -low iron (without knowing the cause), magnesium, zinc, B vitamins, or vitamin D directly impact fatigue, mood, and recovery.
5. Skipping meals, relying on takeout, or eating foods that spike blood sugar can drain energy and worsen stress on your body. Most women don’t even realize this. Gluten intolerance or undiagnosed celiac disease can also contribute to nutrient deficiencies, gut symptoms and leaving you feeling sluggish and fatigued after meals for a long duration of time.
A lot of these things overlap so once I take a clients case and get their results it makes sense that they are exhausted! 🫶
✨ The good news: once we identify the drivers, simple lifestyle adjustments, targeted support, and gentle lab-guided interventions can help you feel like yourself again.
