If a major sporting event is coming to town, the town people may go wild with excitement. The celebrant, who is due to do a wedding right in the middle of the action, does not.

So today, at 1pm (three hours before the ceremony) I checked the maps, just to be sure, and my maps told me that due to road closures, the usual 23 minute trip would take THREE AND A HALF HOURS 😂! It had me taking a ferry from the Bellarine to Mornington Peninsula, going through Melb and ending back up in Geelong.. just in time to miss the entire thing.

Fortunately, I realised how ridiculous that was, with many roads still open, I left an extra hour early to be sure, got there with plenty of time and even enjoyed a chai in the park beforehand.

Love you and but please… let’s not double date next year?

I am still thinking about the evening I had a few weeks back listening to the magical .

My key takeaway, and I had heard this from Liz before, the crucial need for women to be able to relax. I feel it. Most women around me talk about being exhausted most of the time.

I truly think that although feminism was transformative and brought through much needed changes, it also failed us. There is more being asked of us than ever before.

Even my fitness watch yesterday told me I was at risk of ‘bottoming out’ because I hadn’t stopped all day - and it was a Sunday!!!

I’m grateful for my practices and my walks in nature. And I hope to build more and more and more relax time.

Has anyone managed to find ongoing and meaningful time to relax? I’d love to know how you made it work.

When I started this Instagram account the algorithm very strategically started pumping through content based on advice for new businesses to ‘reach your audience’ or ‘connecting to your tribe’. I read and watched some of it and thought I should at least try. I put together a content schedule and I considered filming myself and other things a few times a week. That was the plan.

That was the plan. But now it’s not. I am not one to force things and recently, the truth is, all my energy has been consumed by the things that need it. Real life stuff. My family, the couples, families and individuals I work with, and navigating a challenging time in other spaces I work in.

So for now, algorithm, following my last post which was weeks ago now, here’s a photo of the sky and an honest reflection from a busy lady.

For now this is enough.

I always like to get away for a little while, or at least have some time to myself, once my boys go back to school in late January. There is something nice and somewhat essential for me in connecting back to myself and having some quiet after a month or two of school holiday adventure, noise and sometimes chaos.

This year is no exception, particularly after quite a demanding year of pushing my body to its limits and having very little time for myself. And so, I returned to a beautiful and rustic off the grid cottage in regional Vic this week to do just that.

What I found, within the first hour or so of arriving, was a very important message I needed to hear - from a kettle. Yep.
