Today we celebrate the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, father figures and those who have shown up with love, guidance and care in Australia and New Zealand

But we also recognise that today can bring mixed emotions. For some, it may be a day of connection and joy. For others, it may bring grief, distance, complicated relationships, loss, or the ache of wishing things were different.

If Father’s Day is difficult for you, be gentle with yourself.

And if today is a beautiful day for you, take a moment to appreciate the connection and the people who have helped shape your life.

Your relationships matter. Your feelings matter. And so do you.

SIXTEEN YEARS OF
WORLD SEXUAL HEALTH DAY

WAS launched the first World Sexual Health Day in 2010, under then-President Rosemary Coates of Australia. The theme was Let's Talk About It — an attempt to break the silence around sexuality.

Sixteen years on, the day is marked worldwide.

Every year has had a theme, and read together they trace what the field has been arguing for: sexual health for a fairer society, sexuality education for all, let's talk pleasure, consent, positive relationships, sexual justice.

This year, the theme is Every Body.

It affirms that Sexual Health, Rights, Justice and Pleasure belong to every person, in every body, without exception. That our bodies are personal, relational and political, and that we live, express and experience through them.

Sixteen years, and the momentum continues to grow.
