Words of wisdom on how community connection, support and engagement grow wellness beyond the role. Service often isn’t just what you do, for many it’s a part of who you are 🙌🏻
What ways do you show up for your community?
I‘ve become a ‘Friend of Rotary’ to help out with local events, joined the committee of our local health hub, brought Well Beyond Service to life backed by the hearts, hands and resources of my community 🙌🏻

Sharing a little of my serenity this morning.
Like many of us, I have a busy day planned. I some times get stuck in my head that wellness isn’t always do-able.
Then I remember, wellness isn’t only the big things - it’s also making time for the little things.
10mins invested - watching, listening and feeling the spray of the fast running water.
That’s wellness for me.
What’s something you‘re doing for your wellness today?

Today’s reflections 💚Just over a week has passed since the Well Beyond Service women gathered around the campfire.

What a weekend it was 🙌🏻With a little soak time and some valued feedback here were some of the memorable moments and take aways:

So much laughter - a few faces hurt 🤣
Many random critter facts - bees 🐝 wombats ❤️ and Wedgies 🦅
The freedom to be, to be heard, to simply breathe🌀
Flexibility to meet needs, without the guilt - sleep, powerwalks, rest, connection, involvement, spectating 🙌🏻
Shared experiences and a knowing we‘re not doing wellness or hardships alone.
A genuine feeling of safety and connection ❤️
We remembered how good it is to play, to create and be fantastically silly.
Spending quality time talking, learning and laughing about wellness, particularly women’s biz 💕

All this and so much more.
Another wonderful weekend that exceeded our participants expectations 🙌🏻

Thanks to The Veterans’ and Families‘ Centre for your support and sponsorship 💙🩵❤️

To those on our wait list that missed this opportunity, thank you for your applications. We‘ll stay in touch 😀

We look forward to seeing you around the campfires again soon - watch this space for updates and future programs 🙌🏻

Congratulations Remount on 10 magnificent years of supporting those that have served.
The Remount Family is something to be proud of and a joy to be part of 🤠🤎

Ten years ago, we saddled a few horses, opened the gates at GUNBEN and wondered how we’d go.

We hoped that a horse might help someone find trust again. We hoped that a campfire might spark a conversation that had been waiting years to happen.

We hoped that strangers might become mates, and that people carrying the invisible weight of service might discover they didn't have to carry it alone.

None of us imagined where that journey would lead.

Ten years later, more than 600 veterans and first responders have ridden through the gates of Remount.

We've watched shoulders straighten, laughter return and confidence quietly rebuild. We've witnessed tears, triumphs, courage and moments that words could never quite capture. We've seen healing begin. Not because we had all the answers, but because we created a place where people could simply belong.

In doing so, something unexpected happened. We didn't just build a program. We built a family.

A family made up of veterans, first responders, partners, volunteers, supporters and friends from every walk of life. A family brought together by horses that somehow seem to understand us better than we understand ourselves.

Those horses have carried more than riders over the past decade. They have carried stories, burdens, hope and new beginnings. We have been incredibly fortunate to know these horses, learn from them and ride beside them.

Behind every program is an enormous amount of care that few people ever see.

Over ten years, we have shared more than 10,000 meals, each one lovingly planned, prepared and served by volunteers who understand that healing often begins around a table as much as it does in the saddle. We have also accumulated more than 11,000 hours of time in the saddle, and every one of those hours reflects an unwavering commitment to professionalism, horse welfare and participant safety. Every horse selected, every helmet fitted, every lesson planned, every cow mustered and every risk considered has been done with one purpose; to create an environment where people feel safe enough to reconnect with themselves and with others.

Perhaps one of the things we are most proud of is how Remount has grown.

For ten years, our focus has never been on fundraising. It has been on delivering meaningful experiences, one participant, one horse and one program at a time. We have simply concentrated on doing the work as well as we possibly could. We have never relied on government funding to sustain that work.

Instead, generous people, businesses and philanthropic organisations have chosen to walk alongside us because they have seen the impact with their own eyes. They have backed outcomes rather than promises, and for that trust we will always be deeply grateful.

We are also profoundly grateful to our Patron, Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of Australia. From the moment she embraced Remount, she has done far more than lend her name. Her Excellency has believed in our purpose, championed our people, shared our story and quite literally ridden beside us. Her encouragement, humility and genuine commitment to those who serve have been an inspiration to everyone involved with Remount.

None of this happens by accident.

To our Board of Directors, thank you for your wisdom, governance and steadfast stewardship. Your leadership inspires confidence, and that confidence allows others to invest in a mission that genuinely changes lives.

To every sponsor and supporter who has believed in Remount, thank you. Your generosity has ensured that every participant has been able to attend without cost, exactly as it should be.

To our volunteers, there are simply not enough words. You have given thousands of hours, countless weekends, your skills, your patience and your hearts. You have quietly changed lives without ever asking for recognition. You are the soul of Remount.

And to every veteran, first responder and family member who has trusted us enough to come to Remount..............thank you. Thank you for your courage, for your friendship and thank you for placing your trust in us.

As we celebrate ten years, we don't measure success by the number of programs we've delivered or the dollars that have been donated.

We measure it by the lives we've been privileged to walk beside. In friendships that still endure. In confidence rediscovered. In families reconnected. In hope restored.

That has always been the Remount mission………and it always will be.

Because at the end of every program, every conversation and every ride, there is one message that has never changed.

Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. Thank you for what you do for our community and for our nation.
