We loved training this incredible team Puddle Jumpers Incorporated! 💛

At Safe Hands SA - First Aid Training, our mission is to ensure community lifelines have the confidence and skills to step up in an emergency. We were incredibly grateful to partner with Puddle Jumpers and support 14 of their wonderful volunteers across their op shops, food programs, and camps.

Patrick thoroughly enjoyed working with such an enthusiastic group. We hope you never have to use these skills, but if you remember your training, you will be ready to act. 🩹✨

Mother’s Day looks different for everyone.

Today is for the mums, grandmothers, and mother figures.

It’s also for those missing their own mums, and the parents who have lost children.

However you’re spending the day, we’re thinking of you.

If only real emergencies came with speech bubbles! 🗯️🚑

Knowing when to start CPR is vital, but knowing when it’s safe to stop is just as important for your safety and the patient's recovery.

According to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC), you keep going until:

✅ The person recovers (starts breathing normally).
✅ Professional help (Ambulance) arrives and takes over.
✅ It becomes too dangerous to continue, or you are physically unable to.

Want to feel 100% confident in an emergency? We’ve got you covered with our free first aid guides.

May the 4th be with you ⚡️

A little Star Wars fun with a serious reminder… knowing CPR matters.

CPR compressions should be delivered at 100–120 beats per minute. and yes, Darth Vader’s Imperial March fits the rhythm.

Hopefully you never need it. But knowing what to do can make all the difference.

Last week was a reminder of how quickly things can change.

I had a medical episode while in the car and needed urgent care. I’m doing okay, and I’m very grateful for how quickly everything was handled — from my husband acting immediately, to the care from ambulance and hospital staff.

It reinforced something I talk about every day…

Knowing what to do matters. Acting quickly matters.

Safe Hands SA is continuing as normal, with my team supporting all training and bookings. I’m taking the time I need to recover properly.

I’m very grateful for the people who have been there this past week.

Have you ever had a moment where quick action made all the difference?

Training in action – because knowing what to do matters.

🐶 Expert Level Egg Hunt… or trouble waiting to happen? 🍫

We’ve all seen it…
Kids (and pets 😅) on a mission this weekend.

But a quick reminder 👇

🚫 Chocolate and pets don’t mix
Chocolate is toxic to dogs, even small amounts can make them really unwell.

👉 Keep eggs out of reach
👉 Watch little helpers sharing their finds
👉 Don’t forget wrappers on the ground

🏃‍♂️ And for the humans…

Excited kids + running + distractions = bumps happen.

👉 Keep an eye on:

Falls and head knocks
Allergies (shared food)
Overheating in the sun

🧠 Simple awareness makes a big difference

👉 We’ve got free first aid resources available to help you stay prepared:

Enjoy the egg hunts… just maybe keep this little guy away from the chocolate 😄

Fake blood? Fun.
Real blood? Time to act. 👻

Halloween’s the one night we don’t mind a bit of fake blood — but when it’s real, knowing what to do matters.

🩹 Apply firm, direct pressure to the wound.
⬆️ If possible, raise the injured area above the heart.
🚑 Keep pressure until the bleeding stops or help arrives.
It’s simple, calm action that can save a life — no magic potion required.

Because confidence in first aid isn’t scary… it’s strength. 💚
