Being the strong one has an expiry date.
The strong one is usually the person who carries the weight of others because they know they can ‘handle’ it.
They keep the wheels in motion, they are emotionally intelligent, they look after everyone and make sure everyone gets what they need.
But eventually the strong one becomes exhausted, resentful and so tired of keeping it all together.
They must remove “I’m fine, don’t worry about me” from their vocabulary and learn to speak their truth. Learn to be vulnerable, learn to be held.
They must honour themselves by learning to receive and have their own needs met.
They must take care of themselves and choose to put themselves first.
If any of this is ringing true for you I know there is no doubt in your mind about your strength, but can you imagine just how strong you would be if you let yourself be held?
Giving yourself permission to let go of everything you have been carrying is when your true strength begins to rise.
Much love,
Lisa ♥️
