GC Integrative Physiotherapy & Wellness Balancing Western Science & Eastern Energy

14/09/2026

Your next goal doesn't have to be a harder exercise. It can be an easier everyday task.

Getting out of a chair. Taking the stairs. Doing what matters to you.

In this short video, GC Integrative founder and physiotherapist Gary Chen explains why needing support is not failure — and shares a supported starting point rather than a pass/fail balance challenge.

Only practise if standing is already safe for you. Keep your usual support, use a sturdy chair against a wall, and use your hands as needed. Stop for pain, dizziness or unsteadiness. Seek individual physiotherapy advice if you are unsure.

Where does contribution fit into Physio-Qi?

Wellbeing, connection and contribution are the programme’s purpose. The $8 adult fee pays for the class. Our giving plans are still in preparation; we will make the arrangements clear before the scheme begins.

A local morning. A wider purpose.

We want the care people bring to a shared practice to reach further — towards people and communities facing hardship. That purpose sits alongside the movement and connection at the heart of Physio-Qi.

Join physiotherapist Gary Chen for Tai Chi- and Qigong-informed movement in Southport.

The Wellness Bridge, and why the practice runs a podcast.

The Wellness Bridge is a long-form conversation show hosted by Gary Chen, AHPRA-registered physiotherapist and founder of GC Integrative Physiotherapy and Wellness on the Gold Coast. It publishes on Spotify and on Apple Podcasts.

The premise is the space the practice works in. Western clinical science measures a great deal and is careful about what it will claim. Eastern movement practice has carried breath, balance and body awareness through a long tradition, in a language that was never written for a journal. Neither of those is a failing. Putting them in the same room, out loud, with a physiotherapist obliged to stay inside scope, is the conversation this show is for.

Episodes cover whole-person physiotherapy, the GC Health Model, the Physio-Qi Method, and evidence-informed care for older adults and people living with chronic pain. Some of it is directly useful if you are looking after a parent. Some of it is a clinician thinking out loud about where the evidence is thin.

The show is general education, not individual health advice. An episode is not an assessment.
