I have always had an ongoing & invested interested in working with children (paediatrics), no matter what industry I worked in.

Since I could remember I knew that I wanted to work with children, and couldn’t wait to become a mum, so I did.

I qualified as a children’s educator completing a traineeship while still completing high school. I worked in a community children’s centre for 5-years. Then I became a nanny 🫶🏽 I was a dance teacher to both children’s and adults (hip-hop & Jaz ~ Yes, your girl can bust-a-move), I also worked in every theme park on the Goldie, I even worked a 6-month contract at dreamworld in a scare house ~ that was fun! But more for the older kids & adults 🤭

Growing up In the hinterland on the Gold Coast I always had a deep seeded love for nature and native flora & fauna. I went on to work in bush regeneration, which broadened my awareness of medicinal herbal medicine (deemed weeds/pests from local councils 🙄 - so backwards!). I went onto completing my bachelor of health science degree in Naturopathy (BHSc Nat).

I was a full time step mum when I started my degree (still am 15-years (ok that makes me feel old), and I became a birth-mama towards the end of my degree 🫶🏽 I have always wanted to work in the “whole-Family-Care” Health space (preconception & pregnancy care, mum, dad & Kiddos), as it takes the whole family 🫶🏽🫶🏽

Since completing my studies (2014 - 2023), I have completed many maaaaaany hours of extra training in both the paediatric and adult health space, in many areas. My most recent training was becoming a ‘Certified Paediatric (Children’s) Microbiome Clinician’. I am currently training in Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), and have a large to do list to achieve ~ so stay tuned.

Being a naturopath is a life-long degree of ongoing learning, and I am here for it all.

Big hugs,
Renee 🌿 x

Let’s just take a step back and remember that food is medicine! And that food should always be apart of first line of treatment.

Simple Nutrition Basics for both Adults & Children:
No stress, no overthinking, just focus on getting these in each day friends 🫶🏽

Fibre
👶 Children (4–8 yrs): 18g/day
🧑 Adults: 25–30g/day

Supports gut health & digestions (healthy bowels), feeding beneficial gut microbial species, supports immunity & detoxification (hello hormonal regulation).

Protein
👶 Children (5 yrs): 25–35g/day
🧑 Adults: ~1.0–1.2g/kg/day (≈70–120g/day depending on body size & needs)
Helps growth, repair, blood sugar balance, energy & satiety.

Healthy Fats
👶 Children: include at each meal/snack
🧑 Adults: 2–4 serves/day

Supports brain health, hormones & absorption of nutrients.

Complex Carbohydrates
👶 Children: 3–5 serves/day
🧑 Adults: 3–6 serves/day (adjust for activity level)
Provides energy, fibre, brain fuel & micronutrients. Hot tip: pair with protein to balance out blood sugars.

✨ Keep it simple ppl: Add fibre, protein, complex carbohydrates & fats into each meal. These basics, everyday create strong foundations for health.

Let’s talk qualifications, registrations & insurance for naturopaths, it’s not the most exciting topic, but an IMPORTANT one 🌿

I am a qualified clinical naturopath with a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy (BHSc Nat), and I am registered with ANTA.

To become an ANTA registered naturopath, practitioners must hold a minimum Bachelor Degree qualification.

To maintain registration each year, we are required to:
• Renew our professional registration
• Hold current professional indemnity insurance
• Complete a minimum of 20 hours of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) through ongoing education, seminars, trainings & mentoring

This helps ensure we remain up to date with current research, clinical knowledge, and changes within the profession, so we can continue providing safe, evidence-informed care to our clients.

Being a registered naturopath also involves ongoing personal and professional investment into education, insurances, mentoring & compliance requirements, all of which help uphold professional standards within our industry.

When choosing a naturopath, don’t be afraid to ask about their qualifications, registrations & insurances

HEALTH IS WEALTH ✨

In a world that moves fast, true healing asks us to slow down, nourish deeply, and support the body back into balance. 🌿

Healing isn’t about perfection or quick fixes, it’s about creating sustainable habits that allow the body to thrive, long-term. From the foods we eat, to our quality of sleep, our stress levels, our daily movement (or lack there of), and our all important mindset… every small choice matters.

Your health is your foundation. Invest in it daily. 🤍

Make the farmers markets apart of your weekly routine.

This lifestyle adaptation will help you create positive changes to your diet & therefore, your overall health (mood, sleep, digestion, etc).

🍏 The fresher the produce is (see ya supermarkets) the more nutrients in the fruits & veg you consume.

🫐🍓 farmers markets off more variety for spray free and organic produce. I Definitely recommend sticking to organic/spray free for the dirty dozen at a minimum (berries, pears, potatoes, nectarine, collard greens, rocket, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes etc).

👩‍🌾 Supporting your local organic & spray free farmers, helps to support local business, local families, and encourages better farming methods.

Plus it is a great way to add more diversity into your diet.

You want to aim for Aprox 40x different fruits/veg/herbs/spices in your diet each week, this is achievable with shopping at your local farmers market.

Diversity of fruit & veg = more fibre. Fibre from a *variety of food sources (fruit/veg) feed the beneficial bacteria in the gut (our commensal species) & the more beneficial commensal species in our gut (colon), the more good they will do (hello beneficial metabolites).

Our gut is a HUGE part of our health, and we need to feed it the good stuff to be our best and most healthiest selves.

Happy eating friends 🥕 🍐🥦 🥒🧅🍉🫒☺️🫶🏽

I love the microbiome space 🦠📚🤓🧬

In clinic, there are two systems I’m always looking to optimise… the gut microbiome and the nervous system. When these are supported, everything else tends to follow. The body is deeply interconnected, and the microbiome is one of the key drivers… so let’s buckle up 🚗✨

I’ve officially completed Paediatric Microbiome Mentoring (and the learning never stops 🤓). This has deepened my confidence in selecting the right testing, and more importantly, accurately interpreting results in children — because paediatric microbiomes are not just small versions of adult ones.

They are dynamic, evolving ecosystems that shift with age, development, and environment. Different markers matter at different stages, and choosing the right test, for the right age is everything when it comes to clinical accuracy.

In practice, I focus heavily on a “feed, feed, feed” approach, nourishing and supporting the microbiome first. While interventions can vary case-by-case, the foundation is always about working with the body, not against it.
“As a Certified Paediatric Microbiome Clinician, trained by I am skilled in the safe assessment, accurate interpretation, and integrative management of the paediatric microbiome in infants and children”.

PAEDIATRIC ECZEMA SUPPORT 🌿

Gut-focused support for children (adults too) ~ it’s family care 🫶🏽

Eczema isn’t just a skin condition, we always look at the gut–skin–immune axis when supporting little ones 🤍
This is a compounded powder formula I use in clinic for a foundational approach. It’s designed to be gentle, practical, and easy for children to take.

✨ Key Foundations:
• Zinc (skin repair + immune support)
• Vitamin D3 (immune modulation)
• Lactobacillus rhamnosus (LGG) (gut + immune balance)
• Omega-3 support (anti-inflammatory, skin hydration)

✨ Additional supports I may incorporate ~ as always, it’s case dependent:
• Cod liver oil (provides Vitamin D, Vitamin A + essential fatty acids)
• Phytoplankton-based omega-3s (alternative source of EFAs)
✨ Other microbiome support options:
• 2’-FL HMO (prebiotic that feeds beneficial gut bacteria (Bifido) — used in some protocols to further support microbiome diversity

✨ Why compounding?
• Simplifies daily dosing
• Allows for individualised, weight-based adjustments
• Uses well-tolerated, clean ingredients suited to paediatrics

✨ Dosing approach:
Guided by RDI, AI & UL references, paediatric research, and weight-based calculations (Clark’s Rule) — starting low and titrating as needed.

✨ Duration:
Typically trialled for ~6 weeks, then reassessed based on improvements in skin, gut function, and immune resilience.

This is one supportive piece of a broader, individualised treatment plan that will also include dietary changes, lifestyle factors, and further investigation where appropriate.

Always work with your qualified healthcare practitioner 🌿

I’m all about supporting our kids to thrive, naturally 🤍
