For me, preparing for conception began with coming back to foundations of health, which I highlight in these slides ✨

I also want to share openly that, over the year before actively trying to conceive, after having done specific blood tests, I was told a few times that my ovarian reserve was considered low for my age. Hearing that initially felt confronting and while I absolutely took that information seriously, I chose not to let it create fear in my body or define the outcome.

Instead, it deepened my commitment to nourishing my health and trusting in when it felt ready, safe and the timing was aligned, it would happen.

I want to preface this by saying fertility journeys can look vastly different. For many women (and couples), it’s not straightforward at all. Chronic conditions, hormone imbalances, endometriosis, PCOS, thyroid health issues, male factor infertility and so many other variables can make it complex and emotionally heavy🫶🏽.

I’m not a fertility specialist and this post isn’t claiming “do these 5 things and you’ll conceive.” It’s merely highlighting the emphasis I placed on many of the pillars of health, alongside specific nutrients and supplements that would help improve egg and s***m quality, increasing my chances of a healthy conception.

What I also believe, is that while every woman is different, many foundational pillars of health that support conception remain the same and they are all crucial.

These foundations create the internal environment that allows the body to feel safe, nourished and supported.

For me that meant:
• Eating enough and balancing blood sugar
• Supporting my nervous system daily
• Preparing with key preconception nutrients
• Reducing overall toxin load where I could
• Ensuring my partner supported his fertility health too

Conception is shared responsibility. S***m health matters just as much. If you’re navigating a more complex fertility journey, these foundations still matter, they may simply just sit alongside deeper investigation and individualised care.

Your body is always communicating to you and sometimes coming back to the basics is more powerful than we realise. 🌿🤎

🩸For so many women, periods become something you just brace yourself for each month. I know I was once one of them.

The pain.
The mood shifts.
The unpredictability.
The disappearing period.
The ‘is this normal?’ thoughts.

And somewhere along the way, you’re told it’s just hormones... or that this is simply how your body is.

But when we actually look deeper, investigate by using appropriate testing methods, support the body with targeted nutrients, the right herbs and realistic lifestyle shifts, things start to change.

Cycles regulate.
PMS reduces.
Bleeds become more predictable.
Ovulation improves.
Not because we masked symptoms.
But because we supported what was driving them.

Your period shouldn’t feel like something you have to survive. With the right support, it can feel steady, predictable and manageable 🤎🌿

📣Want to make your meals more nourishing without breaking the budget?

Then, save this one for your weekend grocery shop & share with someone who could also benefit from these tips 🛒☺️

This carousel is all about how to make better food choices when on a budget (particularly if you have many mouths to feed each week)👇🏾

We live in a time where the cost of living keeps rising and making sure there’s enough food on the table for the family can feel overwhelming.

Of course, it would be wonderful to grow all our own food and buy only organic, but that’s not the reality for many. So, what really matters is the small, better choices you make each time you shop, they all add up and make a difference.

Sometimes, the simplest solutions, like knowing the right foods to add that bulk up meals, boost nutrition and stretch your budget can come straight from a can, bag, or pantry staple.

These are realistic, affordable examples to help you make smarter choices at the grocery store, support your family’s health, and remember: doing something is always better than doing nothing when it comes to feeding many mouths!

Often, you already have so many medicinal staples sitting in your kitchen and pantry, but may not realise how significantly nourishing they are when it comes to treating food as medicine!✨

So, we hear the word probiotics all the time… but what about prebiotics?

Prebiotics are the fibres that feed your beneficial gut bacteria, helping to support digestion, immune health, microbial diversity and healthy inflammation levels.

Onions are naturally rich in prebiotic fibres like inulin, making them a simple, powerful food for gut health.

For some people (especially those with unresolved IBS symptoms or sensitive digestion etc), raw onions can feel a little heavy or bloating due to their fermentable fibres.

Lightly pickling them can make them gentler to tolerate, while still keeping their prebiotic benefits.

This little jar took 10 minutes to prepare and is such an easy way to add gut support to savoury meals (especially eggs 🤤yuummmm).

I lightly sweetened mine with monk fruit sweetener, a natural sweetener containing mogrosides that provide sweetness without spiking blood sugar or feeding unwanted gut bacteria like regular sugar can.

Quick Pickled Red Onions
• 1 red onion, thinly sliced
• 1 tbsp granulated monk fruit sweetener
• 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
• 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
• 1 cup hot (not boiling) water

Method👉🏾 Add sliced onion to a jar. Dissolve sweetener and salt into the hot water, then add apple cider vinegar. Pour over the onions, ensure they’re submerged, seal and refrigerate. Best after a few hours, even better the days following.

Such a simple way to nourish your microbiome and elevate your meals at the same time.

🏝️🥑 A little holiday edition of how I continue to practise health conscious habits that help me feel nourished and supported. This is how I’ve aimed to live day to day for a long time, and these little snaps capture how I carry those rituals with me, even when I’m outside my familiar environment.

I’m more mindful now than ever, especially as I’m making choices for the little human growing inside me 🥹🫶🏽

The beautiful thing about valuing a holistic lifestyle is that, over time, these practices become second nature. They become a way of life, a reflection of how you choose to care for yourself, no matter where you are, what you’re doing or how busy life feels.

And even in seasons where you can only manage one or two nourishing habits, it’s the consistent, repeated practices that truly pay off for our health and wellbeing in the long term. 🙏🏾🤎✨
