Your symptoms tell a story.
And it’s my job to put the pieces of your puzzle together.

In clinic, liver support is essential with all clients. It’s your body’s mega factory & metabolic powerhouse.

It filters your blood,
helps break down & clear hormones,
Processes medications
Produces bile so you can digest fats
Stores vitamins and minerals
Clears toxins
Regulates blood sugar and cholesterol

So if you’re feeling fatigued, have hormonal symptoms, nausea after fatty meals or just feeling ‘off’ your liver most likely needs some love.

Here’s how to support it:
💦Stay hydrated
🥦Eat beetroot, bitter foods & cruciferous veg
☕️Drink dandelion root tea
🍳Eat choline rich foods and plenty of protein
🍩Reduce sugar, saturated fat and alcohol

Look after it. It’s working for you 24/7.

Products I can’t do without!

SO many trends, fads, insta famous protocols… often touted by people who have 0 qualifications.

Whilst some of these can work short term, none are actually addressing the underlying problems and can leave you worse off.

The most common ‘health hack’ I see is Parasite Cleanses. And the consequences of not supporting the body correctly. Doing this without making sure the body is ready to deal with the die-off, inflammation and disruption of the microbiome, can leave you in a much worse state.

It’s easy to get swayed by somebody else’s testimonials on social media, I get it. Before becoming a Naturopath I used to experiment with all kinds of protocols until I knew better.

If there was one winning strategy, none of us would be here..

Your body is unique. Your biochemistry is unique and complex. Work with a qualified practitioner- someone who understands this, to heal from within.

The symptoms feel the same, but the driver is the opposite.
Too little stomach acid, can mimic the symptoms of too much.

The valve between your stomach and esophagus needs acid to stay shut. It is pressure dependent.
Low acid = low pressure = the valve doesn’t seal properly.

Even a small amount of reflux burns, because your oesophagus has zero tolerance for acid.

So you get prescribed a PPI.
It reduces the acid.
You feel better short term.

But the root problem?
Still there.

Signs your reflux might be a LOW acid problem:

• Bloating and burping after meals
• Feeling full quickly
• Reflux worse lying down or bending forward
• Low iron, B12, protein or zinc on bloods
• You’ve been on a PPI for months with no resolution

MHRT can be an amazing tool and for many women it’s what’s needed.

But before I assume every symptom is a hormone problem, I want to know:

✨ How’s blood sugar?
✨ How’s sleep?
✨ How’s stress?
✨ Are nutrients sufficient?
✨ Toxic load?
✨ Is the gut and liver doing their job?

Because fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, anxiety and poor sleep don’t always start with hormones.

Support the foundations, then make informed decisions about hormone therapy.

🥝 The tiny fruit with big benefits! 🥝

Don’t underestimate the humble kiwifruit! Packed with vitamin C, fibre, potassium, folate and powerful antioxidants, it’s a nutrient powerhouse. (Even contains serotonin!)

✨ Kiwifruit may help:
• Support immune function
• Support hormone production
• Improve digestion and relieve constipation
• Promote healthy skin and collagen production
• Support heart health and blood pressure balance
• Improve sleep quality thanks to its serotonin content
• Reduce oxidative stress and inflammation

Just 1-2 kiwifruit a day can make a meaningful difference to your gut, immune system and overall wellbeing.

Skin on! For even more fibre to help relieve constipation 💩

💚🥝

PPIs are the 4th most prescribed drug in Australia.

And a lot of people are on them for years.

Here’s the problem. Your stomach acid isn’t the enemy. It’s your first line of defence. It kills pathogens, breaks down protein and is essential for absorbing nutrients like iron, B12 and magnesium.

Suppress it long enough and you get nutrient depletions and downstream symptoms, gut dysbiosis and possibly problems with the gut lining.

The real question is why your stomach is reacting in the first place. Dysbiosis. H-Pylori infection. Motility issues. Stress. Structural dysfunction. These are the drivers and they’re all addressable.

If you’ve been on a PPI for more than 3 months, it’s worth a conversation.

You can take all the supplements in the world and whilst you may get some relief short term - if the function of your gut is poor, you’re not likely to resolve the issues.

Your gut health starts with the nervous system.
Slow down, sit down and chew. Well.
And eat a balanced diet with plenty of protein, fats & vegetables.

Your diet plays a huge role in the production of stomach acid, which is needed to break down our food for proper absorption of critical nutrients.
Like these needed to make acid in the first place:
Iron
Zinc
B12, B1
Sodium
Potassium.

Our body will naturally divert energy AWAY from digestion when stressed.
And incomes the gut problems…

Prescribing the pill to young women as a first-line hormone fix is one of the most common things I see the consequences of in clinic. The downstream effects are real and they’re addressable. 💗✨
