At SaveHer Drivers, supporting women goes beyond providing safe transport. It’s about standing beside women through every stage of life.

We’re proud to support Understanding Menopause Together – a free community education evening dedicated to helping women, their partners, families and support networks better understand menopause and perimenopause.

Menopause is a journey that impacts not only women, but also the people around them. By encouraging open conversations and sharing evidence-based information, we can help break the stigma and ensure no woman feels like she has to navigate it alone.

📅 Wednesday, 19 August 2026

When it comes to hormonal IUDs, two of the most common options patients ask me about are Mirena and Kyleena. While both are small, flexible, T-shaped devices placed in the uterus to deliver a low, localised dose of progestin (levonorgestrel), they serve slightly different needs.

Here is how they compare:

🔹 Mirena

Best for: Contraception + treating heavy or painful periods.
Duration: Up to 8 years for contraception (under current guidelines).
Key feature: Contains a higher hormone reservoir, which thins the uterine lining significantly to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding.

🔹 Kyleena

Best for: Effective contraception with a lower dose of hormones.
Duration: Up to 5 years.
Key feature: Slightly smaller and slimmer frame, making it a comfortable fit for women who have never given birth while maintaining standard cycle patterns for many users.

Choosing the right option comes down to your body, your history, and your personal health goals.

The short answer is yes. While surgery repairs the physical structure, it can't change the underlying quality of your native connective tissues. Across the board, there’s a baseline lifetime risk of about 10% to 15% for requiring a repeat procedure.

My goal isn't just to repair the issue today, but to protect your results for the long run. That’s why I place a massive emphasis on holistic post-operative care—including dedicated pelvic floor physiotherapy, managing chronic constipation, and building lifelong pelvic-safe movement habits.

Your long-term comfort and confidence are always my priority. Have questions or looking to schedule a consultation?

I know that stepping into an OB-GYN clinic can naturally bring up a lot of anxiety and fear. Because of that, my absolute priority is to create a relaxed, welcoming environment where you feel completely at ease. When we work together, you can expect:

◾A Holistic Approach: I don’t just look at isolated symptoms; I look at you as a whole person, taking every aspect of your well-being into consideration.

◾Allied Health Collaboration: If your care requires it, I work closely with other allied health specialties to ensure you receive the most well-rounded support possible.

◾A Supportive Environment: To make your interaction as pleasant and stress-free as possible, I always have a dedicated nurse assistant by my side during consultations. Having a nurse present provides that extra layer of comfort and reassurance so you never have to feel fearful.

My goal is to make your care journey as smooth and comfortable as possible, tailored specifically to your unique needs.

It’s one of the most common questions I get asked in the clinic when we start talking about non-surgical options for pelvic organ prolapse.

When your pelvic floor muscles and ligaments stretch or weaken, organs like your bladder, uterus, or bowel can shift downward, causing that uncomfortable, heavy, dragging sensation.

Think of a pessary as a small, flexible helper made of medical-grade silicone. When gently inserted, it acts just like a supportive shelf or a structural bracket. It physically holds those organs up in their correct, natural position, instantly taking the pressure off your pelvic floor.

The best part? It gives you immediate relief, it is completely removable, and it lets you get back to your daily routine without the constant discomfort.

If you are experiencing symptoms of a prolapse and want to explore if a pessary is the right fit for your lifestyle, you can book an appointment with me:

You may need a colposcopy after having a routine cervical screening test. Other reasons for having a colposcopy may include:

🔹Some of the cells in your cervical screening sample are abnormal (but not necessarily cancerous)
🔹You are infected with human papillomavirus (HPV), which is the main cause of the abnormal cell changes and might lead to cancer
🔹You've had several screening tests, but it wasn't possible to give you a result
🔹The nurse or doctor who carried out your screening test thought your cervix didn't look as healthy as it should.

A colposcopy can also be used to investigate things such as unexplained vaginal bleeding (for example, after intimacy) or an inflamed cervix.
